I totally hear ya... got rid of a '71 olds a month prior to getting the viper.
Had it since highschool and oddly dont miss it cuz of the viper.

That's a sweet looking rod. Love the engine. Did you build that car?

I got the Viper first. Now I want a cool late 60's early 70's muscle car. That's my next goal.

:2tu: Yep, built the engine, Trans, Corvette rear end, electrical, helped with paint & interior. A LOT of work. :crazy2::crazy2::crazy2: Most people don't realize how much time & money goes into projects like these. Plus I chromed everything removeable ,which in turn becomes a nightmare to maintain. Street rod turned into show rod. I also believe most people don't realize how amazing a car like a Viper is. That's why I also wonder why many don't drive there Vipers ? :dunno::dunno::dunno: Thanks everyone :headbang: :drive:

You pretty much answered Everything I was going to ask you! Lol! You, can tell by how clean she was that you would have had to be pretty anal about it to keep it that spotless. That motor looked immaculate, Beautiful Car! Do you still hang out with all the old car club guys. Is it like night & day between driving the two, was the motor mostly for looks or would she git up & go.

:2tu: Still hang out with all the car guys @ the monthly cruise nite down here. get over 300 cars each cruise nite. The 454 in the 34 sedan was mostly a driver with a small cam to give it some "sound", but the Blown 350 in the Model A would run pretty good. But at speeds around 100 mph, those big fenders would want to lift the front end. Yea, putting too much chrome on a car can mean a lot of upkeep. :drive: You going to the Christmas party ?

No, Dolph just pm'ed me earlier today & I explained to him what all is going on (I would have loved to). We're headed back to Ft. Worth in the morning for Shane's surgery on Monday. I didn't post anything on here about what's been going on lately, but I told Dolph I would let him know how everything's going after the surgery & I'll pm you & let you know. Ya'll have a Good Time & Stay Safe!

Shane's surgery went well, hopefully we'll be headed back home tomorrow or thursday (they orginally went in & cut his knee cap & turned it out almost 30 degrees & cut his ankle & had to turn it 45 degrees in). He got the bad MRSA virus (he's had it since the initial surgery) & they're hoping that going in & taking out the plates & screws out of his ankle (the bones have had 3 months to heal now) will hopefully help to clear it up (he will still be taking 8-9 antibotics aday for the next 6 months) we'll have to come back right after Xmas to get the stitches out & they'll do some more coultures on it & see if anything else is going on. Did you go to the Xmas Party or have talked to anybody that did, if so was it a good turn out & post some pics of it. Definitely give me a call a couple of days before you're headed this way & I'll give Dolph a call & maybe we can do lunch or something.

Yea, with a street rod and you sell it, lucky if you get $.50 for each hour you spent building it, but you get the reward of knowing it is yours and you built it the way you want it....enjoy looking for a future replacement....my $.02
