I saw mention on another post that there is a difference in the Stripe quality?

Thicker on the 08? Sounds like a big sharp edge.

Can someone clarify.

Saw some on an 08 that appeared to be thicker than the ones on the 06s.....as far as quality, I have no love for Prefix's work especially for what they charge

I don't know about mil thickness but it should be about the same. The stripes are added after the base/clear. That is why you feel a nasty edge. My coupe is getting ready to go under the knife and the stripes will be under the clear like they are supposed to be.

As far as the layout on the '08 is concerned, they are narrower to compensate for the hood vents (faster production time).

Yes I have not noticed any difference in the thickness since they have been doing them. I do wish for all of you that they would clear over the stripes and panels after but this is VERY costly and time consuming. We have done quite a few striped cars here and we do all the additional work. I'm sure the customers would chime in if they want about how awesome they come out of our body shop. The going rate is about $4500 but the thick glass smooth finish is worth it IMHO and many of our customers.

Woodhouse did the blue stripes on my 98 silver GTS back when it was new.

EXCELLENT piece of work.

The 08 stripes are to thick and have defined sharp edges. I honestly do not like them... but I am a clear bra installer and they are making life a lot more difficult than it needs to be. They would look much better if they were wet sanded and clear coated over. Just pulling the tape off after painting seems like a cheap way to do it... especially for a $3000 option.
