striped vipers

Were all viper stripes applied identically. I am looking at a 2000 with silver stripes, the silver wraps around the contour of the air intake on the hood. Others I have seen the stripe runs straight and even lays inside the air vent at the edges.Which is correct? and will the VIN identify if its a true striped viper?

factory stripe should run right through and sidewalls of the air intake. painted from factory and clear coated. i believe 4" wide and 2.5" between. any vinyl is an add on not factory.

There is no specific digit in the VIN that you can check; but, a dealer can look up the VIN and tell you the color code it was built with. If there are two color codes, it was a striped car. I'm not sure if the codes are on a sticker on the car. I don't remember that to be the case. (I am currently Viperless.)
