I think that the stripes are a bit too narrow for the eye. Look at the stripes that the factory puts on the Comp Coupe as an example of how they should look. Just my opinion.

While I love the idea of stripes on the SRT, these are just a bit too narrow for me in the front as Russ noted. I would also note that the Comp Coupe and other Vipers have a more uniform gap between the stripes, which makes it less "pointy". I tried to improve the color on your picture a bit and have Russ's Comp Coupe photo with the stripes below that for comparison:

Not that drastically different, but it does seem to add some "weight" to the stripes. All this said, I applaud you for having the guts to stripe the car, as many of us have been contemplating it for a while. I can only imagine the next VOI when we are all wandering around trying to figure out which SRT is ours!

The stripes had to be that way because of the lines on the hood, or it would lay out real odd. we tried masking tape numerous ways for the "best look". The stripes are actually WIDER than the GTS!! They are 11" vs. 8" for the GTS. They do taper wider. If you look at the SRT hood closely, that is the only way to avoid it bubbling over the hood in a very odd way. This seemed to look the best of all the options we tried. (and we tried many!!)

Personally, I think that silver or white stripes on the red Viper would look better, and I like the Comp Coupe's wider stripe with a narrower gap better as well.

I'd suggest that you take another batch of pics, because the pink cast of those shots doesn't show off the deeper Viper red well, which likely looks much better in person with the black stripes.

I usually don't go for stripes... but those look pretty good on the Gen3.

Always like the ****** *** too.

I understand what you said about the layout on the hood, but could you have decreased the gap between the stripes as they get near the windshield and could you have made them wider as the go over the nose of the car and over the fascia? I think that is the major problem, they just get too narrow as the go over the front and the car is so wide it weakens the look, I just played around with this on a red 1/18 model with some silver tape, it looks real good if they are wider over the fascia. Sorry to be critical, hope you are not offended. Congratulations on being brave enough to be the first to just DO it! And I do think black looks best due to the black top.

Once again, I applaud you for taking that bold step and doing stripes. I know that most of us wonder what they would look like and your car looks very good. Nonetheless, I was curious as to how the Comp Coupe stripes would look on your car. Now I know there is a badge to contend with, but I don't think it should be a factor either way. Easy on, easy off. Oh, and are the badges on the red SRT's black? I thought they were color-matching like on previous Vipers. Curious!

Anyway, here is your original photo and my not-so-professional Photochop rendering:

I think part of the reason the stripes look more narrow (except for the fascia where they actually are) is the gap between them. I am envious that you had the guts to stripe it (I don't, yet) and congratulate you on a job well done!

As soon as we see the SRT raffle car, I'm striping mine. I just want the dimensions to be 'factory'. I love the look of the black stripes on your car, but I think I'll do white, just to be different.

The stripes look good but I really like the photochopped stripes by Y2K3SRT. Much more Comp Coupe.

Check the stripes on the factory raffle car post, they look exactly like Chris's photoshop.

And for the record, I think rcyphermd's stripes look fine and again congratulate he and his painter on a job very well done. I wish I had the esferas to stripe mine, but I will just look on with envy...
