Latest high-impact, hand-painted, show-car quality exterior color is available across Viper model lineup

New ‘Grand Touring’ package brings standard Nappa leather seats, sophisticated chassis electronics and exclusive paint colors to the Viper’s entry price class

Monday, January 13, 2014: The newest, high-impact exterior paint color for the SRT Viper was shown today for the first time at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit.

The Chrysler Group’s SRT (Street and Racing Technology) brand introduced “Stryker Green,” an evolution of the iconic Snakeskin Green exterior color that first appeared in 2008, which features enhanced green and yellow pigments and a “liquid mercury” appearance. The color is the perfect choice for SRT enthusiasts that want to take their SRT Viper to the next level of exclusivity with a vivid and unique color that reflects light to show off the dramatic curves of the Viper.

“We’re continuing to develop and build unique, low-volume, special-edition colors for the Viper that adds to the exclusivity of our American-built flagship supercar,” said Ralph Gilles, President and CEO, SRT Brand and Motorsports. “Every SRT Viper is painted with a process that is very similar to what we use for our show cars. The application of the new Stryker Green exterior paint is a very detailed and intricate process, taking approximately eight hours to complete. The process first starts with a base color coat followed by a green-tinted mid-coat and topped off with a clear finish. Each coat application adds depth and accentuates the curvature of the Viper’s exterior design.”

Also making its debut on the 2014 SRT Viper is the Grand Touring (GT) special package featuring standard Nappa leather seats, five-mode Electronic Stability Control and the two-mode Bilstein® DampTronic Select suspension, both previously only available with the Viper GTS price class. The GT option package will be limited to the new Stryker Green and Venom Black exterior colors.

Stryker Green exterior color will be available starting in February on the Viper GTS price class, and the SRT price class with the new GT package.

The SRT Viper isn’t just the ultimate supercar, it’s also a perfect canvas for high-performance parts and
accessories from Mopar.

This Moparized SRT Viper showcases lightweight carbon fiber components with an exposed carbon fiber
performance X-Brace, which is almost 50-percent lighter than the production version with the same
strength and functional stiffness.

Additionally, a prototype aero package has been fitted to the show car with a Mopar carbon fiber rear
wing and extended front corner splitters.

Can you post a better pic of the front splitter? Is it the same as the CF package piece? The wing looks the same as an 08 ACR, is it?

Hmmm. It looks ACR-ish with those aero pieces but it is NOT the ACR. This makes me hopeful of a widebody, radical ACR in the future :)

Id love to see some sunlight pics of this color or better yet in person.

Curious...what is difference between (besides the green/red colors) between the $5700 Stryker Green, and $15,000 Stryker Red...as they both have the same name, but big diff in price?

Stryker Red has 1 coat of a yellowish orange, 3 (or 4) coats of red, and then a clear coat iirc. Stryker Green is just 3 coats of paint.

I like it, but honestly it looks a bit too like the snake skin green to me. Wish it was a darker tone green. But I still like it. Black striping would do miracles on that thing.

I know some guys have been Jonsing for this color and congrats on getting it, seems like SRT is really focused on painting now.

I was intrigued by the GT package, since they took the track pack from me, and I've felt all full modes of TC should be on the SRT model vs having them be different and then they make it only on the black or green. What bean counter math requires a package like that to be only coupled with green or black??

Anyway, not to take away from a cool color being released, especially one that I know plenty of folks were hoping for, looks nice.

I think the GT package is sort of a bridge. Many have complained "why isn't there one model you just choose whatever you want"

The GT package now gives you that, basically. I wonder if the GTS will go away and all you'll have is the SRT in a year or so.

Seems like SRT took everyones advice.

Love the color, but these insane prices for these specialty colors is a little off. Sadly making this car less and less the "blue collar guys" supercar.

They figured the "blue collar guys" who grew up with viper are ready to retire and ready to cash in their 401k plans:lmao:

There's an easy solution to this: don't buy the paint that takes 8 hours to apply if you can't afford it.

Stryker Green = Snake Skin Green, right?

Not the same. Stryker has more depth and sort of has the metallic color-shift on body lines, depending on light. Similar to how Stryker Red catches light. SSG is more uniform metallic green. Shades are similar though.

Looking over these pics, it's clear that the camera needs cleaning. Lots of dust particles on the pics. Red arrows pointing at dust particles on lens/camera mirror and a red line shows dirt/wax around the SRT badge. This could be understandable if those were pics by owner or an amateur, but these are official SRT photos. Step up yo game a bit, maybe?

Also...

is this a paint defect?

I'd really be shocked if there were any paint defects. My Stryker Red is flawless, and I can't imagine a show car not being as good as my production car. The only flaws are in the clear bra that has a few dings from rocks. I'm hopeful that the paint is still pristine underneath.

This is the most interesting Gen V for me since the introduction of the Gen V. I sold and miss my 2010 SSG ACR LE. This new car gives me hope. I will be interested in pricing when available. Might just change my mind about getting another Viper.

I love SRT's paint jobs and this Stryker Green looks exceptional. I don't think there is any paint shop that would give you that type of high quality custom paint for $5,700. Maybe I'm wrong, but I don't think I could get my Harley Davidson custom painted for near that amount!
