Woodhouse picked up my car today to install a Paxton supercharger. Should I stay with the 3:07 gears or change to 3:33 gears? It is not a daily driver. I take it to the drag strip three or four times a year.

It's a matter of personal opinion, but I'd suggest that the MORE HP, the LESS you will ultimately want to change out the OE 3:07 gear set. Somewhere around 600 RWP, anything shorter than the 3:07's will render 1st gear useless.

3:07 all the way, or else watch the Mustangs, Nissans, and Vettes pass u by while you fishtail all over the highway.

I have 3:55's with my S/C, and I LOVE them. Feathering in 1st, and the beginning of 2nd, then OMG.....you'd better hang on. The gearing is perfect for the open highway also, IMHO.

hmmm....I dunno...I think most tuners recommend 3:33's or stock w/ s/c Vipers. But Ken is probably a much better driver than most of us.

I got the DLM SC install along with the 3.55 & light weight fly wheel and love the set up. Since I don't drive in the rain I have the Hoosier A6 on the rear and they are very very sticky tires.

Some Viper owners ,with a SC, go with the 3.33 and really like that set up.

Talk to Mark about the gears.

With just a Paxton the 3.33 gear is a great combination. I have about 10,000 miles on that combo and works great. When I increased my horsepower I then found the need to go back to the stock gears.

Hiss what does that DLM guy know about Vipers anyway???

If you go to 3.33 I think you'll hardly feel the difference. If you fool around more than serious racing, I would go for the 3.45 or 3.55

Rick--isn't he the guy that gives the Viper a fire breathing personality.

You can always use our Racelogic with launch control and the 3:55's as so many of our past customers have. They all seem to love it and the gears above 1-2 are much more fun IMHO.

You are going to love the Paxton. Mark does a great job. As to the 3.07, I think that it is a matter of taste. I like it. You have to roll into the throttle. It takes practice. I have not driven a supercharged SRT coupe with a 3.33 or 3.55 but first must occur so fast that it is even more difficult to keep traction. If you are only going to quarter mile track it and you are going to use slicks, you might want to upgrade your half shafts. Also, if you have not already done something about the shifter, let Mark tighten it for you.

Mark is going to install the Paxton SC along with a upgraded PCM, 170 degree stat, engine and trans mounts and a MGW shifter. Should have it back in about two weeks.
