Re: Supercharged GTS vs. Stock SRT 10 Convertible

I have never heard of ABS being used on a Grand Prix car or any other road racing vehicle driven by a professional. If you know of a case, please advise.

F1
Indy
ALMS
SCCA

But not the NASCAR boys.

ABS is not allowed in Formula 1 any longer. Which is why you’ll see drivers loosing races because they’ve flat spotted a tyre. And these are the Highest paid athletes in the world.
ABS will never flat spot a tire. Their are pro & cons of ABS but if your looking to win races consistently and abs is an option, they’ll go with abs. And that’s know BS.

Absolutely the worst example of "my car is modded so it performs better than your stock car" I have ever read. The performance comparison should be between a stock GTS and a stock SRT. And I'm a GTS guy so I ain't "sensitive." The SRT would win ANY competition hands down. 50 more horsepower, better handling, better brakes with ABS. And as mentioned above ABS IS used in the competiton venues. The reason ABS is on the car is that Herb Helbig tried it on a mule and went FASTER around the track with it.

[ As for Gerald, your love of, and reference to, Bart Simpson is a testament to your cultural sophistication. LOL.

Hey! Now I am offended.

Bart is an amazing actor and the Simpsons is the sharpest script on tv.
Maybe too sophisticated for your taste.

Re Lee00's statement; "Absolutely the worst example of "my car is modded so it performs better than your stock car" I have ever read." Read the posts again Lee00. The posts are not a put down of anyone's Viper. What they are is a statement that for many of us that have enhanced, modded Gen II vehicles, Dodge will have to produce a Viper with considerably more Power to get us to make a new purchase. Take one 1997 through 1999 Gen II coupe. Add boost, high flow cats and a good catback system. Put a set of Stoptech brakes, racing oil pan, and power steering vent tube on it. Add a few of the inexpensive suspension goodies Sean and/or JonB have available. Finish with the Front fascia airduct. Presto chango. For a total price far below the "out the door" price of a new coupe you have a vehicle that will far exceed the new coupe's capabilities. Until Dodge recognizes this and ups the power without upping the price, there will be many GTS owners who keep what they already have. If it sounds like I am promoting the use of a twin screw type supercharger by Dodge as an OEM option, I am. Enjoy your GTS.

Inexpensive? If the suspension goodies aren't Penskes and spherical bearings it ain't keeping up with a Gen III and those are far from inexpensive.

Don't even talk to me about brake packages.

You keep slamming if you like but for a GTS to handle and brake anywhere close to a SRT you'll be at SRT prices. Even then the chassis and supporting components will limit the GTS.
