Alright Tony -

You are on - But, Lets split the difference... I will go from 40 to 140. Anything less than 40, and I sit and spin. On the gas, I can not go at less than 70. I have pilots you know......

How about Sunday Morning? PM me. I prefer GA 400 as I know the road has limited access and is dead on sundays before 11am. But, I know that is a stretch for you. So, I can go on over to 75.......

I will e-mail you tonight(need to leave now). If you do my roll of 10 mph then I will do your 70-150/160 If there is a clear winner I would back off at 140 or so. I would like both n/a and then you are welcome to spray if I win either one. One point we need to prove is: Is a Roe s/c car or a 650R faster. Then spray me (of course I will be back later for another dose with a little myself)

Hey Tony,

I look forward to your Email! Look, here is the deal, you said it yourself - The thing we want to know is if a 650R is faster than a Roe SC car. If I go from 10mph, that leaves a lot up to the driver. I don't drive worth a poop. I shift slower than my grandma. Plus, I have Pilot Sports. Lets get together, go drive around and see who has what. I like the highway roll on because I feel it is a true test of the cars actual power. It leaves very little up to the driver. I dont know man. Seems like we are both posturing to put our cars in their best possible situation for a victory. I concede that with your track experience you can out drive me. But the real question: Is your car faster? Me thinks a good 70-170 run tells that answer!

Regards,

I doubt there's anyone in AZ with an SC Viper. In fact yours is the first high HP/really fast Viper I have seen or heard of here in AZ. You planning on running it at the track? Ever go to the Pavillions? I would love to check the car out.

By the way Vipercorp, I noticed someone mentioning Toulene. If you are interested in getting unleaded racing gas at the pump the Mobil Gas Station on 44th street and Chandler Blvd in Ahwatukee has 101 octane (R+M method, which is ~1065octane rated like normal race gas are rated) unleaded race gas at the pump, $3.99 a gallon, heck you can use your Mobil Speed pass to buy it:) The owner has a Viper GTS ACR among a few other toys.

Does anyone have a Supercharged Venom650R? If so, what considerations are there for doing this, as different from a "stock" Viper.

I also have NOS w/200 shot -- should I look into bigger gears? What about the tranny - will it hold up? What upgrades should I consider to accomodate a SC?

01 Venom 650R

PS: Anyone in Phoenix have a Roe SC? How is it working with the HEAT?

Hey I take offense to that Supra comment;)

In fact. I will lay this out here for the taking. I am willing do to a 70-170 run with a Roe car(5 or 8lb) on just motor. We can film it.

What are you driving.....a Supra ? Since you don't go to the dragstrip I will do you s/c only...5 psi...stock motor... from a 10 roll.....10-140....thats a quarter mile for me. You run the nitrous one time and without it one time.
Oh yea..... we will definatly film it.

Supra,

Yes I've been at the Pavillions a few times. And the gas station you mention is my "local" favorite -- I am there all the time and use it to fill up my daily driver as well as the Viper. As far as checking my car out, I thought we had already met at the Pavillions? Maybe it was another Supra fellow...

I am going to try to hit the drags tonite if I can escape the girlfriend for a few hours.

Also I heard of 1 Viper here in AZ that will be SC'd -- it supposedly will be installed in early August. I was hoping to be #2.

Cheers
Michael

For both of you two, please don't ball it up at the end of the run! Just what everybody needs to hear is a couple of Viper brothers taking each other out at 150. Sorry for being the safety geek :smirk: :smirk:

We don't want that. By the way, I drove over to Al. yesterday to hook up with a Hayabusa on 72 at Scottsboro. Can't post the video here, it is posted on the Chattanooga area of the forum in my sig. It was NASTY....I didn't know a bike could get so small so fast :)

Good deal, not sure who you met with a Supra (many of us in AZ) but it wasn't me. By the way my post should have said ~105 octance, 1065 cotane would be nice;)

The guy that owns the gas station (Saad) is planning on Twin Turboing the Viper soon. He's doing his own kit as he has done on both of his Supras (both over 1,000 HP at the crank). I can't wait till he does the Viper as I plan on buying one in the near future and a TT Viper is definitely one of the cars I want badly!

I would like to check out that SC'ed Viper, who's is it?

Later,
Guilly

PS. I no longer have the car in my sig (need to change that). I have a 97 Red T66 Supra (~650 RWHP max).

I was just messing:) I know that unfortunately A) the Supra can be hard to launch and doesn't do as well as a Viper (I know there are 10 second Vipers on Pilots, fastest for a 6speed Supra on street tires I have heard of is in the 11.5 range) and B) that there are many Supra owners that are not good drag racers (whether they are not into it or whatever) so the car has gotten the reputation of being a highway racer for a reason.

Thanks on the compliment, not like Vipers lack any top end!

Hey I take offense to that Supra comment;)

Dang, I can't get by with anything  That was a compliment (I think) You must admit though....70-170 is Supara territory (so I hear)

Not sure who it is ... the Viper Tech here in AZ told me he was doing one in August (because I approached him about doing mine) ... funny about the guy at Mobil -- I am there 2-3 times a week and the gentleman that works the cashier (cool guys) never said anything to me. I suppose the owner doesn't work the register - never knew he was a car guy!

ViperCorp,
I know that there is already a supercharged viper in Arizona. I talked to my mechanic Eddie a few weeks ago about that very same topic of putting on a supercharger on mine. He told me he doesn't recomend it and told me that one of the vipers he was working on had an engine blown up because of a supercharger. I wanted to put a Roe on mine but I have a hard enough time keeping my temp down during the horrible summer heat and the Roe isn't intercooled so thats why I'm staying away from it. If my warranty would still be intact if I supercharged it then I would do it. But its not. Best of luck whatever you do.

Was this recent? I spoke with Eddie about 3 weeks ago and he didn't mention this and spoke highly of the Roe SC'er.

Ask Lee Dove about at least one of the Venom cars, which I sold him:

95 RT/10, Venom 600 #019. 514 stroker, dyno'd last year at 549 RWHP and over 580 RW TQ. On Kumhos with 3.54 gear, he's run 11.24 (at 128 or 129). With n2o he's run 10.68 on that tire/gear combo (at 132 or 134...can't recall).

Yeah...early Venom car, built by the Terpstras. And it's a Gen 1, "600" not a "650."

Don't judge all of the Venom cars by a few bad apples. Regarding the bad ones, I hope the victims receive proper compensation. Bad juju, there.

I was extremely happy with my Venom 600 for the two years I owned it. It made a 1700 mile trip and a 3200 mile trip with ZERO problems. The 3200 mile trip was after flogging it mercilessly at the VOI in Vegas for four days.

ViperCorp,
It was about 2 weeks ago. He didn't tell me what kind of blower it had on but he did tell me that the supercharger caused the engine to blow up. I have to go down there next week anyway and I can ask him more about the blower specs if you would like. If he told me the Roe Superchargers were great I would already have one on by now.

Tony and Martin,
Looking forward to hearing your results.

Hi James,
To my knowledge, Eddie has not installed or seen one of our Supercharger kits yet. Therefore, he cannot honestly give you any kind of recommendation about it. I know they inquired about them recently as people started asking them about installing them. We sent him a set of installation instructions. FWIW, we have 2 Vipers operating in the desert of the middle east and they do not overheat or have temperature problems due to the Supercharger.
Let us know what you find out about the blower car that had an engine problem, even if it's off line. I too have heard about this car and wonder which kit it is.

Regards,
Sean

I just found out that a friend of mine in Tucson bought a Viper and is getting it SC'ed and putting NOS on top of it (not sure if that's the car the guy you mentioned is doing in August). This guy has a 9 second MTI 427 CI on NOS C5 and a ~850 RWHP 97 Supra (I think he's selling the Supra to do the Viper).

Saad's definitely into cars and a hell of a driver (drag racer) too. Does all his own work on his cars except machine work and welding/fabricating. He assembles his own engine, tuning, etc. He's not at the station much, he (him and his brother actually) has more than one station so he stays busy overseeing them, etc.

Do you live in Ahwatukee? I noticed the Pecos road comment. Be carefull, lots of cops on that road lately, a friend of mine (with a 505 RWHP 2800 pound turbo 240SX) got nailed speeding there about 6 weeks ago, and another friend got nailed there about 3 weeks ago....
