can someone tell me what are the rule to be able to compete in T1 racing where Bobby Archer competes in. I would like to know what kind of car does he drive and how different is it from stock. are there any Porches and Ferraris that are also in the field since I cant find any websites that displays all the drivers and cars.

thanks

Toronto ACR:

Bobby's car is a '00 GTS that has been modified only slightly for T1. Mod's include: roll cage, racing seat, fire suppression, ACR shocks, aftermarket brake pads, ViperSpeed brake cooling duct, Quaiffe differential, diff cooler, racing wheels. Not much really...

There are a few Porsches and Ferrari's in T1, but not many. It's mostly Vipers and Vettes. www.sccaforums.com and http://www.scca.org/amateur/club_racing/runoffs/index.html have some info on T1 you may find interesting.

You're leaving out 2 very important modifications required by the SCCA, inlet restrictors and weight. They do this so they can adjust the performance of the cars in hopes of keeping the competition close. Folks quickly lose interest when 1 car wins every time. The amount of weight and inlet restriction can change as the various manufacturers complain, but suffice it to say Archer's car has a smaller inlet and is heavier than an out of the box ACR. They do the same thing in SpeedChannel, Grand Am, World Challenge, etc...

Obviously I am biased, but I think these adjustments are the only way another series production car can compete with a Viper on a road course.
