Hope everyone had as great a time as Lisa and I did (kinda hard not to with this group). Weather was about as good as it could be. Enjoyed meeting all the newcomers, and hope you will come back next year. Lots of rain out there now, so be safe and have a safe trip home.
Unofficial count was 40 Vipers in the police escorted parade into Gatlinburg, 55+/- total Vipers for the weekend, 90ish attendees, 11 states represented as well as Ontario, Canada (Jeebs)

NOW.............

let the pics and vids begin > > > > :headbang:

We just stopped for breakfast before our long track home. The wife and I would like to thank everyone for making us feel so welcome. We had an amazing time. We met a lot of great people, got to see some beautiful country side and great roads. We are already talking about next year.

Another great and safe TOD event. Score Vipers 50+ Dragon 0. Thanks to all those who helped plan and carry out this event. And thanks even more to those who drove a looooong (or a short way) way to attend. It was a GOOD time!

I have to say it was a great event, and we experienced LOTS of southern charm and hospitality! We walked into a group and felt like we had 50 long term friends after about 5 minutes. We will definitely try to get this one on the schedule again next year! Every part of the event - dinners, drinks, drives, were all wonderful! A special thanks to Chip and Joel for putting together a great event, and to everyone in the group who identified my mystery parts in the parking lot before we conquered the Dragon!

I'm sorry we had to leave before the event ended, but we did make it home (mostly) before the rain started.

Another fun event...can't help it with all the great people that show up here. Thanks to Joel, Chip, Todd, the Vickers, Morrisons and Ackleys for their hand in the events. As usual, some new friends and memories were made and the great weather didn't hurt! We crammed in an extra event Sunday on the way home with the "I-40 Blind Man's Hydroplaning"...wouldn't recommend it though, it seems too dangerous, even if I could even see where I was going....

Good to meet the first-timers (including a dog), who also all seemed to come from the longest distance (Canada, Savannah GA, Pennsylvania...).

Thanks everyone for putting on the event. As usual, I had a FANTASTIC time!!!
I'm thinking of starting a taxi service for Cherohala Skyway (like Sabine Schmidt at The 'Ring)....just so I can drive it every day. :D
(Yes- the road is THAT good).

HUGE thanks to Matt and Mike for guiding us around their asphalt playground.
There are no better guides in this area than those two guys.
It's just hard to keep up with them (heh heh).

Thanks to Chip's wife Lisa for ordering the amazing weather. :D :D :D

Lack of battery juice got me some amended videos of TOTD, but most of the Skyway from the top of Stretch's yellow Gen.1.
Save for a bug splatter, it's pretty good footage.
Thanks for the loaner battery, Chuck!

It was great seeing everyone again, meeting a bunch of new folks, and driving the best roads in the country.
Then an ice cold beer, whether in a parking garage telling huge lies about speed and horsepower or a nice restaurant grinning like an idiot confusing the entire wait staff, it's a perfect way to end a perfect day of driving.

THANKS EVERYONE!!!

WOW! We had a great time. In fact, this was the best driving experience I have ever had in a Viper with over 250 miles of driving in the mountains. Whew!

Thanks to everyone who planned and executed this event. It was A-1! It was great to meet all of you. I know our Carolinas group had the time of their lives. We'll be back next year for sure! Now for the pics!!!

Brian, thanks for bringing the Gen V out. It was great to see that at this event. I hear from reliable sources "behind" you, they never saw you hit the brakes on the Dragon!

Just got to thinkin'...we had a lot of long-time regulars that couldn't make it: Kricks, Skows, Armours, Beavers, Tollesons, Lucas, Jack Winter (which would have broken the existing "Winter"-as-las-name record), Harrigills, Scott Lanford, and probably a couple of others I'm missing. If Lisa can schedule the weather again for next year, I'll bet we can top 50 in the parade fairly easy...or maybe we could just all haul up to Canada for a reciprocal visit, eh?

Brett that sounds like a great idea. Everyone come you to Canada. I'd make that event for sure as long as it was local to me in Ontario and not in a different province. I'd feel bad though everyone driving up here to drive some flat straight roads. But what we lack in great roads we do have some great things to see up here and the people are supper nice. Just remember the EH when your talking to us. Lol.

I would also like to thank everyone that had a part in setting up this amazing event. Could not have been easy. And to those that lead the pack down the roads, big thanks to you guys too. Thanks Kevan for hooking us up with a 2 way radio. And to everyone else we got to hang out with. Either at dinner on the trails or at the car museum. You all are a great bunch of car guys/gals and I would drive that distance in a heart beat again to hang out and hit the trails again.
My wife and I appreciate the great hospitality that we received.
Thanks again everyone.

I am already looking forward to next year! I said it before, but we need to have this event twice a year. I am waiting on Matt to get back with me, but the South FL guys will be coming up in Oct. I think. Who is with me...........................:D

It was great to see all my Viper friends again and made new ones too. Best part of the Viper ownership :2tu: Now I am waiting on Chuck to post up the video showing me hanging it off the edge of the road, hair on fire and foot to the floor :D

Edit: post up more pics! For those that missed it, eat your hearts out. There is always the next event.............................:D

Glad you made it back ok Jeebs, you and your wife are road tripping champs!

I think everyone should be required to break in their gen 5's the same way that Brian did.... on the Skyway!

Thanks for another great ToD event! My 4th consecutive and it's basically a must attend on my calendar each year. Such a blast :headbang:

Count me in for October!! Made a fall cruise by myself last year and was amazed at the scenery!! We already plan on making a trip so keep me informed and I will schedule to meet y'all.
BTW, October 19 was the time we went and hit all the colors at its peak.
The Dragon was even more beautiful at that time!
If you can't tell I'm mountain whipped!

The only thing i would want to different next time is stop more on the routes and take in some of the scenery. Take some picture of how beautiful the area is. The wife got to look around while i was driving and i missed some really nice views. But on the flip side flying up and down the roads was pretty sick as well. So i guess we are in for next year just so i can take some pictures.
And see everyone again.
