"Tail of the Dragon"

Went to Gatlinburg, TN area this weekend with some friends and our wives. The guys went driving on Friday and we hit up some really great roads. Took the Foothills Pkway South out of Townsend, TN to US 129, drove the 318 curves in 11 miles called "Tail of the Dragon" to Robinsville, NC. Ate lunch and drove the Cherohala Skyway for some beautiful vistas. Culminated the afternoon with a photo-op at Bald River Falls.

This area of the country is beautiful and great for those who like to drive. I highly recommend visiting!

The TN/GA VCA's throw a huge "Tail of the Dragon" event every year. Lots of Vipers and driving. Keep your eyes out for threads on the event. Im sure they will put it on again.

It's hard to beat the dragon. Hoping to have my car up and running for this years gathering there. Nothing better than driving with 30-40 vipers on the dragon!

Its already scheduled for June 3-5 Brett's trying to work something out that would "take it up a step" (or 5) from the previous years

The "Dragon" has a been my favorite roadtrip destination for many years. From my location near Wash. DC it's a three/four day run down the spine of the Blue Ridge that feels like endless twisties.

In college (at UT), we used to go a couple times a month. LOVE the dragon, but I like driving the Skyway better. Love the views.
