Being unsure of how large VCA is compared to VOA (after the whatever reason split happened)...is it feasible to have a separate Tail Of The Dragon event for VCA members this year?

I just rejoined VCA after a few years hiatus - hence my question. Since i live close to the TOtD and the locations visited by this event, i would be happy to assist in organizing. Please respond to this, if there is interest. Or if I have missed this as an Event planning already in progress (I searched but didn't see it) please let me know.

My wife and I live in Ca we are planning to a trip to the Blue Ridge Highway and going to drive the Tail of the Dragon...should be there
around Sept 15 will stay or 7 days....any information about roads less known would be greatly appreciated...

Sounds good - we'll probably have a firm date for the T.O.D. event this year - i am assuming that it may fall sometime close or during the time you will be here. Will be happy to share routes!

The above give you some area maps to start drilling down into to see where you are. The roads of note are:
321, 411, 72, 129 (T.O.D.) , 74, 28, 441, Cherohala Skyway (165/143) and of course I40E/W
Study the maps and let me know what your approaches will be (from where you will be coming in from).

We are thinking of Sept 16-19, and staying in the Townsend area.

This is the thread - we need to start a 'who is expecting to come list'. The tentative date will be the 16-18 of September.
