Most states/cities/localities have a tax on vehicles. Some of you probably have it and are not realizing it, as it is often buried in registration fees, etc. If you only pay ~$50 a year for your license plate, ~$30 a year for a vehicle inspection (and/or emissions), and have NO other gov't fees related to your vehicle, then *maybe* you aren't paying a yearly vehicle tax of some sort. But if you are paying hundreds a year for your vehicle in gov't fees in some form or fashion, whether as a tax, a fee, or whatnot, you have a vehicle tax. The confusion arises because each state, locality, etc. has different nomenclature and different ways of grabbing your cash, but regardless, most do grab it.
