Temp of my Viper and should I worry ?

What is a safe tempeture for my Viper to run ? It usualy runs in the 190 plus range but sometime when I put the AC on it can go as high one notch under the 250 mark. Is this something to check out? I have also noticed a slight burning smell after a ride. Is this normal. I have only had the car for a few months and it has been running great with these few concerns. Thanks for listening.

My gen1 with no ac will run with the pointer straight up while I'm moving. If I stop it will go as high as the next mark on the right. Then the fan comes on and moves it left a little.

That depends... If you burped your system, and your still running that hot, maybe. Although, if it is a hot day, your not moving, and you have the AC on, yep - the Viper runs hot. Should never enter the red zone, though...

actually at a stand still the a/c will cool the viper because the fan kicks on. While moving with A/C...it will get a little hot in stop and go traffic. sounds like you might have a little air in your system and a simple burp would fix it, but your issue doesn't sound abnormal.
