Thanks for the NOS answers. Just one problem, our dyno will only go up to..

1,000 rear wheel HP or torque :)
So, unfortuantely we don't know how much torque it's really making.

Special thanks to Joe Donovan of King Dodge who took the time to call and tell us exactly what we needed to know. There's certainly no replacement for experience. These numbers are on the same jet from Friday.

Regards,
Sean

Not much to see on the NOS. Just a 10 lb bottle in the back and a single solenoid line and nozzle into the intake tube at the front (pictured below). Universal EFI NOS kit is about $550.

Awesome!

You can pretty easily get the torque if you want to, just apply the power->torque formula on the power curve yourself.

Just for grins, I did this in excel. It looked like it peaked right between 3900 and 4000, so I put another data point in between.

Nice placement for the fogger. You have the VEC2 controlling the spray?

Thank you. I will post a picture or two tonight showing what it looks like with the windshield cowl and heater intake back on. You cannot tell it's there other than the NOS solenoid, which we placed in a visible location on purpose. We had to build a bracket for the NOS bottle also as I wanted to make sure the owner could remove the bottle without tools and access the spare tire if needed. The switch for the bottle opener and master switch are in the ashtray with the purge button inside the cigarette lighter (push in the lighter to purge, which shoots out the NACA duct in the hood).

Yes, the VEC2 has a programmable output for driving an injector or relay switch. In this case, we wrote a program to turn the relay on at anything over 6 psi boost and 3,250 RPM. At that point in the curve, we went to the fuel RPM table, where we scaled the injector pulse by 110%. In the ignition RPM scale, we reduced the timing advance by 6 degrees. The VEC2 is inside the car where a VEC1 usually goes, allowing the driver to change to a NOS or regular program while driving.

Desertsnake,
Thanks for doing the math. 1063 RWTQ sounds fine to me :)

Hi Joe,
Thanks again for the tip about the NOS. As you can see, it improved greatly and our dip now moved up to a higher RPM, and it's not as big. We will go a little more with your suggested change to eliminate that and keep the curve going up. This was just the first pull. We will be pulling out all the plugs and inspecting them today.

Regards,
Sean

Sean, now that we've drooled all over the dyno sheet, perhaps the best question is, has anyone actually tried to drive that car on the street yet? I just wonder if even slicks or drag radials would put that monster torque hit to the pavement??
