The birdcage on Gen II keeps falling off. Any reason why?

Well after getting a new Clutch master, slave and clutch the bird cage is no longer holding on. It work OK for about a month (1000 miles or so after the intall) then the birdcage broke. Ordered three more. I installed a new one and it broke again after 500 miles and then installed the second it stayed on less than 50 depress'. What would cause a Gen II to fail so quickly? I'm OK with cotter pinning it together, but what is underlaying issue. The rod that comes up through the floor is kindof wobbelly (sp) should it provide som lateral support? Could it be a defective slave or worn bushings in the clutch pedel assembly? The car has 'bout 35k.

Thanks in advance,

Paul

It appears you are using the wrong part- the part listing and selling dealer are incorrect. The actual part is a "clip," not the cage. I'll see if I can dig up the correct part number for you....

Best regards,
Doug
