OK, another SRT looses to my 98 GTS.

Hopefully SRT Frank will chime in.

From a 2nd gear roll, we were about dead even. From a 3rd and 4th gear race, it was not even close, 98 GTS Dominated.

Lotus V8 Esprit - He lost
2000 RT/10 - He Lost
BMW M3 - He lost
Superformance 65 Cobra - He lost

I must say, the SRT was very quick (compared to the other cars).

So if you want a fast car, buy a 99 or older GTS with forged pistons... so that some day you can spray it or boost it.

If you want a very refined Viper, buy a SRT. The fit and finish is superior as is the interior. But I will keep my GTS.

Matt, If I remember correctly, you have more TQ but less HP than Greg. But I do know that you can pull from him in your GEN I car.

I will need someone to help video tape. The in-cockpit stationary won't cut it.

I do have Headers and exhaust. But Greg is stock and can pull from the SRT's also. It may be that Greg has some mileage on his car and the SRT's are not at full HP yet.

Jerry, I've also got more hp up until about 4500 rpms where we cross. Plus, right now I'm waiting for my 18" HRE's with new Pilot Sports which will help my traction tremenously.

True Jerry, 2nd gear up was pretty even, and the other two were not. However, I understand you have a different rear end (Viper, not your butt) and headers, etc. I get this from a reliable source, or at least one I choose to believe.

You must have a different rear end because I noticed you shifted much sooner than me from 2nd, at which point I was leaving fast. But then came those pesky 3rd and 4th.

Very impressive car you got there. Sure glad you're not gloating ---- much.

Frank, most of my "gloating" is showing how much quicker ANY Viper is compared to my other beaten car list.

Bud called me today and said that I gave him a "Viper Beating". He could not believe that a Viper beat his 2500 pound Superformance Cobra like that. He wants to send it off for some major upgrades.

Your source is correct. If we did no shifting, then I should have won. But since we shifted (me sooner), I would have thought you would take me. I may have to run your "Source".

But we had a GREAT time. We started at 11am and I finished the cruise at 8:30PM! The turnout was good. Lotus, M3, Viper, Cobra R, 65 Cobra.... Lots of things to run with.

Jerry, Jerry, Jerry... Don't you think it is a bit out of context to compare a VERY modified Gen II to an absolutely bone stock SRT? If not, then please allow me to borrow one of our mutual friend's Gen I. I will then thoroughly walk you like a diesel Yugo in 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, & 6th gears. I will also slaughter you in reverse if you wish. With a Gen I.

Your car is extremely strong and has responded well to the mods, as do most forged Gen II's (one tuner guaranteed 50 rwhp with the header/exhaust package alone). On the same dyno on the same day I fully expect your car to dyno higher than any stock SRT. A fine thing indeed. And as to that Greg guy's car, yeah, yeah, yeah. Skinny guy in a very fast car that knows how to drive VERY well. I will personally hand him the keys to my SRT and he will be faster in it than he is in his RT/10. Guaranteed. He is the Evan Smith of the Kansas City Club - well, if he was a member... :D

From what I'm hearing on exhaust for the Gen III is from stock, it's pretty opened up and not much room for improvement. I could be wrong. Sounds to me like all three Gen's are pretty darn close in a race with the same exhaust flow.

Chris, only one car compared was a "SRT", there were others listed.

I really don't considered my car VERY modified. Basically bolt on pieces. Full Exhaust System, VEC1, Smooth Tubes/KN, Flywheel. No motor work... nothing. I wanted to run Frank since we appeared to be almost identical on the Dyno.

I have seen the Tuners claim of 50HP guarantee with exhaust. I don't believe it. Too many stock machines Dyno at 430RWHP but you never see "Exhaust Upgraded" cars dyno in the 480's... Make sense?

Matt has a good point. The SRT is basically maxed when it comes to exhaust work. So with Exhaust system and a few bolt-ons, all the years are competive in a straight line race.
