Post a little story about the first time you ever saw a Viper!
I remember the first one I ever saw was a 2005 black convertible with chrome wheels. Been trying to talk my dad into buying one ever since and I think hes thinking about buying a ACR one of these days....

First Viper that I ever saw was a 2001 RT/10 Yellow .... Not only did I get to see it, my wife rented it for my birthday, instantly became hooked on Vipers and 7 years later parked a '94 RT/10 in the garage

The first I saw up close was a 1997 BW GTS and a similar one in red at a local car show. The owners apparently made some sort of aftermarket aluminum parts for the cars and were discussing building some all-aluminum car of their own design. But they showed me everything on their cars and I really dug them.

The first one I ever DROVE was a 2001 Sapphire GTS owned by a guy named Joe up here near Storrs, CT. At the time, I was looking to sell my C5 and transition over to a Viper. Had I known his would be offered for sale and go for $35k just 6 months late, I would now own that car. Alas, fate has conspired to see me either have my employer close their doors or for me to get married each time I had the spare cash around to consider buying a Viper.

Don't worry, though! The new business is growing by 33% this weekend alone. Viper will finally be in my future soon.

My first time was in '95 I'm thinking, I saw these low wide headlights in the rearview mirror coming up on me. I slowed cause I knew it was something out of the ordinary, and when it passed me...it was love at first site...a 94 R/T. While in Vegas in '09, I rented one for the day (although it was a yellow one, I figured that would be good for my first ride as they are slower), my love for the VIPER was cemented.

A 2001 Viper GTS in red with silver stripes in the town of Drumheller, Alberta in 2002. We were really going to the local dinosaur museum and were about to pass this Five Star Chrysler dealer. I'm thinking to myself ''gee would they have one?''. The line of inventory cars ended and there it was in all it's glory.
Went back there the next day because on our way back from the museum they were already closed. Low and behold the sales manager that owned it gave me a RIDE!!!
Fast forward to today when I finished constructing a killer Saint Nicholas poem all by myself without any form of help whatsoever, asking the good man to give me at least part of the amount needed for a Emerald Green '94 RT/10 that is currently for sale here in Holland. Yea right huh? Even if it is 100% NOT realistic everybody at work was amazed at my writing skills after not having made any in a good 20 years.

I used to live 5 houses down the street from Bethany Warnock of Warnock Automotive group and her Husband Phil when the Viper first came out. I had two babies at the time and cars were pretty low on my list of my priorities after growing up as a muscle car fanatic. Bethany and Phil had a red one and a yellow one. They took the wall between their garage and basement out to store the cars. I never really got to know them and they only lived there a couple of years but those 2 cars left an impression. I went into their showroom about a year ago while I was looking for a viper and I believe that the red one was on display there.

Same here.

It was so exciting to see a new Mopar come out of the K-car wreckage and give a glimmer of hope for Mopar. In a 1000 years I never thought i would own one either.

Never forget it ... I was heading home from Westminster, MD on Rt. 140, and came up behind a Red Gen I. It made a lasting impression. A couple of years later we went to the annual Motor Trend Car show at the state fairgrounds, and there it was, a white '96 RT/10. I was stunned, and probably stared at that car for a good half hour. The rest of the show as we meandered around to all the new car exhibits, I was continually drawn back to that car. That started my passion, and six months later I found that exact same car at the local Dodge dealership, and bought it. Fourteen years, and five vipers later, no regrets. I am fortunate to have owned, and do own spectacular cars, and I've also met great friends along the way.

I saw the show car at the 1989 Detroit Auto Show, I remember praying they would build that car, Chrysler always came out with these great show cars that for one reason or another would never make it past the show car circuit.

The memory of seeing that car is probably the reason I'm still so fond of Gen I and II roadsters today.

My story is similar to plum crazy.....I became aware of the VIPER back in like 1990? in magazines..etc..but I saw my first one at the Toronto International Auto Show in 1992!!
The car was up on the platform ... they wouldn't let anybody go near it!! And if I hadn't been snake bitten before...I was hooked!
I ordered my first viper (which arrived 18 months later) at that very show!
And the salesguy said I was the first SERIOUS order he'd ever taken on a VIPER!!

I do not recall my first time, but I do remember the time I had my new 1996 Dodge Indy Ram and was a gas station when a new 96 GTS pulled up. I figured with matching vehicles the guy would at least give me a wave... No, he was too cool.

Now when I am in my Viper, I always make it a point to acknowledge over dodge makes and other sports cars based on that experience. I love putting smile on peoples' faces.

1992 it was in a dealership and it was on a platform so you couldn't touch it. I remember it like it was yesterday. I couldn't keep my eyes off the most beautiful car I had ever seen.

It got me started is this whole frickin thing. Watching the Dodge Oreca cars kicking butt live at Las Vegas speedway in GTS class back in 1999. Bought a 99 right away and now on my 3rd Viper. Never looked back and the ride has been great, except the costs. Ouch !

First Viper I ever saw in the flesh was at the London Motorshow, on a stand, in 1995 (I think) it was a Gen1.5 Red with Yellow Wheels (McViper)... I had already seen and fallen in love with pictures I had seen for years and seeing one up close and personal had me in nothing short of lust... I spent literally hours looking at it and kept returning to the stand throughout the day... I had to have one!

It took a while, but got my first Viper a Red with White Stripes GenI at Christmas in 2006... Then sold that to TopGear in 2009 and upgraded to GenII (a 97 GTS). I am still obsessed with Vipers and can't see that changing... The latest ACR's are now also on my wish list!

The first Viper I saw was in a magazine, sitting while waiting for a dentist appointment back in the mid 90's. I remember drooling and thinking 'Man, the fun I could have with THAT thing'!
Then one day while perusing the internet for a convertible, I run across a '95 RT/10 for sale in Detroit. When we went to look at it, that is the first time I had the honor to see one in person. I never dreamed I'd touch or be able to sit in one, let alone DRIVE one. And now, I have one sitting out in the garage - UNBELIEVABLE!!!!!
Pinch myself daily wondering when I'm going to wake up. Life is Good!
Happy Thanksgiving to All - Count Your Blessings!
I know I am :2tu:

I love threads like these...:)

The first Viper I ever saw in person was the actual 96' GTS Indy pace car. It was at the now non-existent Dodge dealer down the street from me as part of a dealership tour. My parents were buying a new Grand Caravan and while it rained outside, I stayed with the car indoors for 2 hours just looking at it. I remember it specifically being roped off on a red carpet but was still within reach for me to touch the passenger door.

I was 6 years old.:) I was 12 when I rode in my first Viper, that'll be a 10 year old memory next year when I turn 22.:omg::rolaugh:

The first time I set eyes on one was 2 years ago. I was out looking for a Mustang for the wife. I was at a set of lights when this silver car pulled up beside me, I looked down and :omg:.Well I went home and told the wife to forget the Mustang.I am now lucky enough to have 2 a 98 RT10 & a 10 ACR.
PS. The wife went out and bought her own Mustang :dunno: :).

I saw my first Viper in 95 or so...a yellow RT/10 sitting right out front of a local Outback. I couldn't believe how badass it was.

My second Viper was a blue/white 1996 GTS, in 1996, and I felt so lucky to be able to see one in person! I was 16 at the time...

A friend of mine told me about Marv's Dodgeviperforsale.com. I went online and checked out his website. I saw a 2001 GTS and thought to myself "thats a damn nice looking car" I called and setup a time to see it. That day was my 1st time i ever saw a Viper in person and i drove it home that day.

The very first one I saw was at the Vancouver auto show in about '95?, it was red, maybe a '92. It wasn't signed well at the show.
The first GTS I ever saw was a blue and white belonging to Greg Moore, (a '97) traveling east on the #1 in Chilliwack, B.C., where I was living at the time. That was in '97 or '98. I saw it close up at PIR later that same year, (talked to him in the pits, got him to sign my program and complimented him on his Viper) while at the CART race and got a great pic of it sitting in the rain. Plates read: GM99.

The first one was the concept car at the 91' auto show. I told my high school girl friend that I would have one of those some day. I went back to the show 3 times just to see the car. I could not stop looking at it. The best part is I was a big chevy guy at that time. My girlfriend did not belive me. I have had over 30 of them now.....So I guess she was wrong.

Back in '94, a doctor down the street got one and it was the first one I ever saw and heard in person. I'll never forget the sound of 10-cylinders firing through sidepipes as he stabbed the throttle leaving the stopsign at the end of the street. Then he bought what I was told was the first emerald green one in the country the following year. He would alternate between the two and I was hooked.

My first Viper sight was at a Dodge dealer I started working at. It was like all roped off with stantions. Well it was like fri nite around 9pm axactly and all sales staff were runing out the door including myself. All the sudden a lady walks in to the showroom and askes the manager for some assistance. So needless to say I was called for. Great!!!!! The lady's face was all covered up in black middle eastern. Si I asked her what she was looking for. Needless to say she blurts our VIPER. And I reply mminivan????? she responded NO VIPER!!!!! So I asked for whom the car was for and she said it was for her nephew. Well the next day I had a call from her nephew from Iraq. He said he wanted one in yellow with A/C. Well 95 were the first few w A/C. We just got the red Viper in the other day w A/C. But he said he would only buy it in Yellow for the reason his other cars were in Red. Hummmmm Well needless to say I sold him another Red car..Lol. He insisted that the car had to have 3 things tinted windows cd changer and a car cover and for the car not to have more then 200 miles on it,,,Lol OK I drove it for like 50 miles hehehe;) Then put it on a closed car carrier on off to Texas. My first Vper sighting. And now I own a 95 of my own=)

The 1st live Viper I saw was a Green 95 at Oxford Dodge in London, Ontario....they had it for sale for MSRP + $25k and I just couldn't believe it. The salesman said "Young man, maybe someday if you work hard you'll own one of these" (I was 25 years old, was married already for 4 years and had been working in Civil Engineering for 3 years). I didn't like his condescending attitude and vowed a buy a Viper, just not from him. (what a hothead I was)

I was in the dealership with my father-in-law and we drove up in his '91 Cadillac Alante (pearl white with burgundy interior and a custom burgundy top), so I found it hard to believe how the salesman didn't think we had some money.

Fast forward to early 2004 and I've made the last payment on my divorce, what did I buy? Yeah you got it, my 2002 Viper GTS ACR!! I've resisted finding that car salesman and all the others who used to shoo me away from looking at cars I was dreaming of owning.

Regards,
Aaron
