I love when I pull up to a light and I see a Vette coming into the lane next to me, then as I look over, it is a 50+ year old lady driving it. Seeing that is more satisfying than the potential race I would of had. Basically a win in its own way.

drove around town yesterday, saw a yellow corvette C5, older guy in it.. Saw him looking at the viper in his rear view and side mirror, but as I cam alongside.. he wouldn't even make eye contact.. Totally ignored me and the car..

Funny thing is, I was ready with a smile and a nod to say hello nice evening.. Oh well..

Happens to me all the time.

The funny part is when a Corvette guy is driving and his gf or wife is with him, and she screams and waves at me and he keeps staring straight ahead as if nothing is happening....:rolaugh::rolaugh::rolaugh:

Hey guys, go easy here. I'm a 50+ yr old Viper owner so I guess I'm bring up the curve.

Looks like no matter how bad it gets I better never park the Viper in an HC spot.

55 here now.

The last vette that I had the opportunity to pull up next to me at a light, held back 1/2 a car length....twice as we hit two lights in a row.

So, I guess I have learned that the typical Viper owner can't spell, think they have the greatest car on earth, and old people ****.
I just have to share this thread on the Corvette Forum.
You guys should be so proud of how you represent the Viper owner.

Boy Wonder, I just learned that you know nothing about math/statistics and love to jump to conclusions based upon very little data. A handfull of posts does NOT constitute the typical Viper owner logically or statistically. Now go run to your Vette forum and have fun with your useless information...

The 2012 ZR1 Vette turns a 7:19.63 on the Nurburgring, (beating the 7:22 of the ACR, which was the high water mark of all previous Vipers) and all some Viper owners can do is choose a "safe" Vette to laugh at?

Really? The Viper needs to knock one out of the park, and the proverbial ball is in our court.

We should be talking about how the next Viper is gonna beat 7:19, and just how Dodge is going to accomplish this. The essence of the Viper is all about WINNING, like Oreca did at LeMans, and the FIA championship. We were in Camelot once, but it's gone now. Don't imagine we're still on top.

OR, we could just forget all that, and merely make ourselves feel better by laughing at old ladies.

Blah blah blah... Old ladies **** dentures.. that's pretty damned funny all by itself...

I dont believe some of you guys above sinking to the level of comparing Vettes and Vipers again.. We have owned and continue to own them both ... they are both beautiful cars... and they are American...:usa:

Get over it...

I thought a Corvette was a type of British war ship. Is it some kind of car?

I was behind a C5 Vette this past weekend at a traffic light. Across the intersection was another C5 vette. When the light went green, the guy across the way honked and they both smiled and waved at each other.

I was completely ignored. :smirk:

I definitely can relate to the "vette" jokes. LOL.

The Vette guys around where I live usually give me that wave when I am in the Viper. They are also nice at car shows. No big deal around here.

i just sold my c6 z06 to get a GTS i always wanted. The c6z06 is an awesome car and will beat the GTS stock but i will fix that! The only complaint i had with our vette group was alot of seniors who just were not into racing and more garage queens. Being that i am 39 it's hard to find a young crowd to hang with when buying expensive cars.

A few weeks ago I was at the Grocery store and saw a C6 parked in a handicap parking spot. At first I assumed the worst- that it was just some lazy old guy. Then I saw a guy coming out by himself in a wheel chair, he managed to throw his groceries in the back, as well as his wheel chair, then get into the car.

I thought that was awesome! Who says just because you can't walk you have to drive some POS mini van. So maybe he wasn't the typical Vette owner. Actually I don't think there is a typical Vette owner. Most people can't afford a $60k-90k until they are over 50. So I guess that means that a typical cool car owner is 50+.

BTW- I love those pictures above. I hope my garage can look like that some day :)

It is nice that the Vette comes in an automatic for people who may not be able to shift but still want a nice sports car. It should be an option on a Viper for those who need it... Whoops, I just asked for a beating... LOL

true on both accounts ;)

I think there is a feature in Viper magazine about an automatic conversion for that very reason.

Passed a silver vette on the interstate today. Was an old lady in the slow lane and I was in my pu truck. I'm 61 and when I say OLD I mean OLD. BTW on top gear US version the ZR1 was 2 tenths slower than a Viper ACR on their track. Very close but no special tuning like GM does for the ring. If I couldn't have a Viper the ZR! would definately be my next choice. GTS Bruce
