I just picked this up. The Hummer will be going away. This should be a much better tow vehicle than the H2 was.

Plus it's huge, fun to drive, and I think it looks awsome.

Nice but maybe You should have gotten the 4WD version, Ive had to pull these out of the wet grass infield more than once! A few 3500's too!! Plus, they get stuck on a snowball unless you have about 2 ton on board..but then winter driving prob not an issue for you! Lol.

Now the big question. Do you have a license to drive that thing? With a GVW close if not at 26,000 lbs then hook a trailer to it puts you into possible CDL territory. Or whatever your state requires. Saw quite a few guys pulled going to and from track events all over the country this year. Remember states are broke and looking for revenue any way they can get it.

You are right, 26,001 requires a CDL. This is registered at 26,000. The truck scales at 11,600 with me in it. Add the car (3400) Trailer (7000) and I am still under even combination weight. Add additional weight like tools spares etc and I should still be safe.

If nothing else i would at least apply for a DOT #. I was pulled over in NJ driving a Sprinter with a Trailer. Once i hooked
the trailer up to the van i was commercial since i drove into another state with personal items in my trailer. fought it & Lost.

I was going to comment on what Frank said. Crossing states can get complex, interstate vs. intrastate in confusing enough. It may not fall into CDL or Class A territory in your state, but I would look into crossing state lines. Does it have air brakes or a better question would be do you need an air brake endorsement if it does. I'm not a truck driver but work in the utility industry where we are known to cross state lines, our company came up with a blanket program where everyone has to hold a class A, so I'm not 100% sure of all the rules anymore. Nice truck by the way, what motor is in it?

Nice. Makes me miss my 04 Ram 3500...a little.

Steve and I have talked about the truck alot. THe pros and cons of a dually. As for me, I sure don't miss trying to park it!
