I had mine repainted, and they've begun to turn the same tint. I think that this is just a quality of the paint, and probably at least one of the reasons that they won't make any more silver Vipers. You could try insulating your cats to see if this reduces the heat to the sills, though I'm not sure if this would have any performance implications.

OK, that looks pretty yuckie....

So what are people doing - spraying the inner surface with VHT 1500 degree paint? If so, use white because it will reflect much more heat the black.

Further, is there room to "quilt" the inner sil surface with aluminized, quilted engine compartment insulation? I have seen this used on a small block Chevy Fiero installation. Looks like NASA stuff....
