Awesome! Congrats! 1996 GTS is a good find...this gives you almost a month to bolt on some mods, so we can watch you DYNO it at the Car Craft Summer Nationals, July 19th - 21st at the Minnesota State Fair grounds in St. Paul...and don't let me catch you trailering that thing down here...!

Gerald informs me that we could fit a few Vipers in my garage to work on over the winter... You guys buy the mods - I'll supply the refreshments!

Speaking of Duluth - anyone have a crazy hair to cruise up there in August for the Blues Festival?

I could actually hear the Blues Fest clear as a bell when I was in my garage last August, as I live on the hill with my house overlooking Lake Superior. Anyhow, I do plan on going to the Car Craft show in July, and I will take some pix of the car as it's being loaded on the trailer too this week. That brings up an interesting question.....Is it going to be able to get up my trailer being so low to the ground ?? I've got a 16' Trailer with a dove tail, and 5' ramps. Hmmmmmmmm. Any ideas on that ?? Also, My Vin ends with 200049 . Does that mean it was the 49th off the assembly line ?? That's what I was told, but I honestly don't have a clue.

Glen,

Not sure about the Blues deal, it's not my cup of tea. Now if it's a 80's Hairband fest, I'm in!

Mr. Dulth's name is Dan...

In regards to the trailer question - that was my first route when picking up mine in IL last month. But, the agency did all cars "but" Vipers - evidently they had an issue loading one before... I was informed that 6 foot ramps would be necessary... I ended up hiring a guy to load the car on the back of his truck - hydraulic lifts - and get it to me for $400. I followed him... But you have much more distance (East Coast)where that may not be an option...

Careful on the doors as well - I hear the fenders on trailers will cause problems... I also had to use 2x4's so the nose wouldn't hit - and then back it off in my driveway - which is sortof steep... Kindof a hair wrenching experience - but I did it all with almost an inch to spare! Just be careful! And nail those 2x4's - they will kick out and possibly damage your new baby.

In the end - once I got the nose on to the flatbed - we took our time and wenched it on the rest of the way - and then he tilted the bed down to its horizontal position...

Jamie - Faster Pussycat played at the Carpet in St Cloud last Saturday... I've been to the Blues Festival a few times - not interested in the music - just the views (

)... Besides, flying up the North Shore on that highway may be fun - now the trick is how to not do the three hour ride up there...!

I'm so excited I can hardly stand it. I'm leaving Wednesday to go pick up my '96 Blue and White GTS and I'm trailering it home 1300 miles !! If you happen to see a Black Dodge 3/4 ton pulling that beauty on the trailer going west from New Jersey, That would be me. I want to Thank all of you who've given me input on how to buy, and what to look for. Without you guys/gals, I would've been totally lost. I look forward to the future driving it, and hopefully getting to know more of you personally too as I hope to go to some of the events. Thanks !!!!

I know I'll have to bring some wood with me, hopefully 2x6's for a little extra clearance for loading it on the trailer. Who know's......Maybe we can get together in Minneapolis Saturday for a little cruzin action for me the newbie !!! University Ave is always fun. We'll see. I left my cell phone number with Glen, and maybe we can all hook up somewhere if time and weather permits. Dan

I went down to the Dodge dealer today to get an oil change in my Dodge truck ( V10 powered, what else ?? )before I hit the road to go get my GTS. Anyhow, The parts guy gave me a Back order form for the front license plate bracket !! That way if, or I should say WHEN the cops pull me over, I'll have an official excuse to give'em. Hey, between my truck pulling, and the GTS on the trailer, There's going to be 20 cylinders along for the ride !!!!!! How often does that happen ???

I don't think i'll be going through that part of Ohio during the light hours. I'm guessing I'll stay overnight somewhere between Cleveland, and Toledo. I'll take pics of the venture and try to make my first post ever with pix. 8 hours now before I leave town, man it's hard to sleep with a Viper on my mind !!! Ever seen the commercial with the guy and that VW bug on the side of his head that gets bigger everyday? Eventually the commercial says, " don't you think it's time ??" Well, It's my time..........FINALLY !! Did I mention that I can't wait ??
