This Takes The Cake - How Much Would You Pay For A SRT??

So I was in Miami as many of you know last week and I needed to get an oil change before driving back up so a few days before leaving I decided to stop by Planet Dodge. Wow, when I say huge dealership, I am not kidding but that is not the good part of the story. So I go to drop off the vehicle and while I was waiting, I said, why not see if they have any Vipers. Now they did not have a showroom for Dodge (surprising since the dealership was huge), they put the cars outside but there was a sitting area where they had three SRT Vehicles. They had a Commerative Edition SRT, New SRT Coupe, and a SRT-4 worked up. So I decided to give myself a laugh and look at the sticker on each car since I was in Miami, and everything is high in Miami, so I looked and this is what I found:

$500 Mark up on a worked up SRT-4

$115,295 for a Commerative

$116,295 for a SRT Coupe

Needless to say, I had a lot of fun with the service department. Their only response was, "It is limited edition".

I don't want to give away this dealership in the East Bay because a few Viper Owners service their cars through them.

About a month ago I went to check out some Vipers at this place and they had a total of about 10 Vipers sitting on their lot. I wondered, wow, that's cool.

No it's not cool, they had an 05 RED SRT 10 at $95,000 and a Copper Head and Commemorative for a little over $100K.

It's a long story, but I actually tried to buy a Viper through them using the Ambassador Coupon and they d!cked me around big time.

Needless to say, I ended up buying a 06 Blue SRT 10 from Bill P.

I don't want to hijack your thread, but if anyone is interested in a story, it would be good for another Thread Topic like "WHY I BOUGHT FROM THIS DEALERSHIP AND NOT THIS OTHER ONE."

The sad thing is that they will sell it for about 1/2 way between the AMV and the sticker, making the proud new owner think he got a deal. The one or two Viper a year dealers take a chance on a fool with too much money walking in.....

Its not just Miami...Its most of florida...
The Florida dealers a rude and arrogant.
I talked with 10 or so Dodge dealers all over florida
to buy an srt coupe FE ...at a reasonable price close to
sticker..but they are all car ******....I bought an 06 FE coupe in arizona for Invoice( not sticker ) and paid Reliable carriers $ 1300 to ship it to me.. I saved Thousands and thousands of dollars ...

The Real problem for these dealers is that they are loosing
other car bussiness also..I will never buy a truck or 300, or charger from them....and if thet just sold these vipers for a reasonable price ..they would make even more money in volume by having a happy customer that wants to come back and buy a Ram, or 300 ,or charger , or another viper in the future...

I have bought many new vipers and other cars cars out of state..and will continue to do so...and there are many in florida that do the same.

I recently received an email from a guy in Nigeria who offered to buy my car (even though it was never for sale) for $50,000, but he's sending the check for $200,000 and all I have to do is send him the car and a return check for $30,000 and I get to keep the other $120,000 for my time, trouble and shipping costs. Thanks mystery man!!!

Funny how the "adjusted market value" is always upward, never down which often is the ugly truth that dealers will never admit to. The only way to find out is to shop and haggle. I actually paid under invoice because there is factory to dealer cash rebates for the 05s. The dealer's price was 95K, I ended up paying 80K for my Commemorative Edition. It took a few hours and walking out to come back the next morning. Most dealers won't tell you about the non-consumer rebates but this one was motivated enough to tell me.

i live in south florida also. and its so true, the dealers ar all bunch of scammers. before i just bought my new o6 yellow coupe, i was thinking of trading my old 02 bmw m5 in for the new m5. which is supposed to be 500hp.anyway after convincing them at the dealer that i was a serious buyer but needed to test drive it first. i drove it but the sales man wouldnt let me get on it so i could see the difference between my old one and the new one. i almost bought it but at 15k over the already 91k msrp it just didnt seem worth it at all. considering how fast they depreciate. i'm much happier i decided to go with the viper. i paid 85k for a solid yellow coupe. no stripe.(what is exactly what i wanted ) but they gave me a really good trade in value on my m5 considering it was a dodge dealership. the first dodge dealer i tried in pompano wanted to give me 35k for my 02 mint condition m5 and pay full sticker for his viper, i think it was 87k. i asked him if he thought we were at the auction. yeah these south florida dealers are assholes.

I also paid $80,000. I dont like market adjustments which to me is out and out gouging of the general public.

I got my Comm Ed for a lot less from Bill. Didn't I see where a Cal. dealer had #1 of 100 and selling it for something like $175K? I was in the Z06 market awhile back--talk about gouging on a car that has little chance of holding its value.

my brother bought a brand spankin new 2006 dodge srt-10 coupe from a dodge dealer in phoenix last night. its a blue one with white stripes. he paid $81k

I just saw one sell on eBay right before I went on vaction for $69K with 1800 miles but now I come back two weeks later and now I see another one for $75K with 500 miles. What a jump in two weeks.

Well if dealers are selling new SRT's for low 70's with all these incentives, I do not find it hard to believe that a private sale would go a little bit lower.
