If you have a Roe Supercharger and a Vec II and you have already installed the new programming, please post your observations and thoughts regarding the effect(s) of the changes. My system is running well. Before I deprive myself of two days of Viper driving by pulling the Vec II and sending it up to Sean for reprogramming, I would like to know whether those who have done it perceive a substantial benefit. My Vec II was programmed in February of this year. By the way, before anyone suggests that I reprogram it myself, I do not have the computer literacy to do so. I would, therefore, rather have Sean do the reprogramming. Thank you in advance for your reports.

Ahhh, you refer to upgrading the firmware, right? I haven't tackled that yet.....but I'm going to.

I have put it on 3 cars and it has cleaned up the #10-too-rich problem.
do yourself a favor: learn to do the update yourself. I know you said you don't have the computer literacy... so learn. you learned to drive. this is easier than driving. this is even easier than changing your own oil. it takes 90 seconds and very little knowledge. sending the VECII off for the upgrade to be done is just silly.

No JD...I still have not done it. However, the rain has started, the hood is up and the car is on the lift. I'll "git-r-dun" before I take it out again since I have tweaked things a bit more.
So...what is the downside to taking out timing? Can you take out too much? How will you know? Talk to me goose. Mind you, she ran GREAT today...and I put back some timing in a few spots where I think she'll like.

take out too much timing and the car will run like a dog.
a "general" rule of thumb is on a non-water-**** or non-race-gas car to take out 3/4 a degree per lb of boost. some cars need more... some less. I ran full timing (actually, a little advance) when running some 110 octane the other day. but that isn't a habit i'm trying to get into.

Has anybody had the new firmware affect teh tune of the car. One perpost when it first came out that he need to chage his adaptives to maximum.

That was me. I think my car was a special case as it was not running correctly to begin with. I had been trying to get it tuned for several months without success. A/F was always erratic and the car would not respond as expected to tuning changes or hold a tune and would frequently crap out when going WOT for no apparent reason. I was very close to giving up and pulling the SC off my car.
Once I installed the new firmware, the car ran much leaner (threw lean bank engine codes) and I had to retune my fuel adaptives from scratch (I had to run the injector % way up from 59% to 74%) and rebalance my left and right cylinder banks, but then it has been running great ever since. I don't know what was changed in the firmware, but it was the difference that finally made my setup run well.
I wouldn't worry about it changing the tune in most cases and it does improve the cylinder #10 fouling issue as well. I would also highly recommend that people run a WBO in their car. That is the only way to know what is going on with your setup.

My car runs great JD updated my gen1. I use to run rich on #10 now the plug looks better. My tune did not change at all

Get the software and cable and do it yourself! It is not much harder than installing iTunes or other peripherals and Sean has the best instructions in the business.
