Hello All,
Here are the details from John G. for the Tiki Bar Run.
IMPORTANT: If you are going, please RSVP to John directly at
[email protected] *and let him know which meeting point you will be at*
so he does not wait if nobody is coming to a particular meeting spot.
This is a joint cruise with the Kappa club (Solstice/Sky owners), and
should be a good time.
NoVA folks: Meet at Tysons Corner Dodge, 8448 Leesburg Pike, Vienna, VA
22182 at 8:15, depart 8:30 to meet up with others at the Westfield
Montgomery Mall in MD (MD Meeting spot #2).
Maryland folks have two options:
Meeting spot #1: Meet at I-270 exit 26, Urbana Metro parking lot at 8:45 AM,
depart promptly at 9:00 heading to meeting spot #2.
Meeting spot #2: Back side parking lot of Sears at the Westfield
Mongtomery Shopping Center. Meet at 9:20-9:25, leave at 9:30 sharp
heading to Huntingtown HS. The mall address is 7101 Democracy Boulevard,
Bethesda, MD 20817
We will join up with the Solstice/Sky Club at the high school at 10:30.
For anyone wishing to head directly to the school, the address is:

We'll depart from the high school at 10:40 for the cruise and arrive at
around 12:15 at the Tiki Bar. Parking will be set up for us..
Sargent BBQ is 10 yards from the Tiki Bar, great chow there.
Here are some thoughts for this cruise:
* If you have a 2-way radio bring it. Channel will be decided on at the
staging area.
* There is an opportunity to stop for gas and use the restroom during the
run. This will be decided on prior to leaving the staging area.
* No speeds over 5 MPH over the limits. Calvert County Police will not
tolerate this.
* No burnouts or horse playing.
* Dares beach Road and Route 4 is a busy intersection. There is a right
turn onto 4 North and then get into the left lane for two
signals and a left turn onto Stoakly.
* On roads where everyone cannot proceed after a stop sign due to
traffic, the lead car will ensure there is enough space and pull to the
shoulder permitting a line up behind. Once an "all clear" call is given
by the sweeper, the sweeper will then pull into the lane and allow the
rest to pull out and continue the run.
* The cruise is expected to last 1 hr 30 minutes with the last 6 miles
being highway. Stay in the right lane for the Tiki Bar / Solomon's Island
ramp just prior to the bridge.
* After the Ramp, the lead car will block traffic and allow for the group
to proceed to the Tiki Bar Area.
