Tilt Trailer?

I was thinking about picking up a tilt trailer. I know the Sloan kwikload is choice but no one around here deals in them and I don't want to pay to ship cross country. Are there any other trailers worthy?

Also I understand the principles of how the trailer works, but how reliable is the setup? I mean does the added stress of pivoting a 3000lbs car cause any mechanical concerns?

I guess the most obvious last question is whether anyone has (or know of) one they'd like to sell.

Thanks.

Bonkers,
Anything within an 8 hour drive should be considered. :) I When I sold my Sloan to JMcGuire, in FLA....I drove down from RI and he drove up...we met in Richmond. Then, when I bought the enclosed, I drove from RI to AR to pick it up. Plenty out there, and plenty of help if you need. :)

Bonkers,

If you have the opportunity, get the Sloan. It works very well with Vipers and loads easier than dealing with ramps. It's great if you're loading/unloading alone.
I bought mine from Yered Trailers. They're here in Mass.. The number is 1-(800)-888-1930. Have you tried Sloan's website. I think they list vendor locations. Also, I notice that you're in Delaware. I am planning on offering trailer services with mine. If you get something from up my way, I could pick it up and deliver it to you. I'm sure I could beat their delivery charge. Just PM if interested.

Good Luck!
Paul

Oh I'll drive pretty much anywhere right of the Mississippi for a decent used one. All the ads I've seen lately have been Plains - Mountian time zones. I don't have the time or $$ for a trip like that and $1000+ shipping defeats the purpose of buying used.

Matt - you have a PM....

Bonkers, I bought my Sloan from Jim Ksenich (717-764-9289) in York, PA (which is about 50 miles due north of Baltimore, MD). Jim gave me the best deal of the three Slaon dealer I called and was a great guy to work with.

Here is my post on the SRT board with some details (and pic):

ok, here is a silly question - if the enclosed trailer does not have a side door (located next to the drivers door), how does one get in and out of the car? Through the window I am assuming?

biggy-I use a winch and pull the car in backwards using the tie down slot in the rear of the frame. It takes less than 2 minutes to load this way with out the side door.
