Is it a replacement? Factory is GLASS.

Bernie, either way call John Beazley, he and his brother do tinting, and we both know what John's stripe work is like!

You ever put your hands on a sill screw?

As ViperJoe stated, the back window is glass. The two locks can be removed easily to apply the tint. You should be able to find someone to do it for $10-$20.

BTW, I highly recommend getting your rear window tinted darker than normal if it's not illegal in your state. It really helps when someone pulls up behind you and shines their lights into your car. It's been sometime, but I actually had a person in a toyota truck turn his lights off when he was sitting behind me at a light. I gave him a wave with a thumbs up. What a great guy!

As an alternative to regular tint, I used the perforated graphics used for truck windows to tint my rear window:

easy DIY. i agree, make it as dark as poss and do windows also.

Er, doesn't the dark tint interfere with the function/reception of the radar detector (e.g., rear detector on Valentine V1)?

Is the back really glass? I did not know that. It feels like plastic or plexi-glass. Good thing I have not dropped it yet KNOCK ON WOOD.

I tried tinting the back window and it went on easily and cleanly, and looked great with the top on. But with the top off it became a mirror reflecting the interior and I couldn't see through it. So I took the tinting off after a couple weeks.

If you are going to tint the rear window, and have the top off a lot (for me it's off 10 months a year), pick a mild tint, rather than super dark or mirrored.

Thanks for the help everyone. I have tinted the window. Tiniting a window was no big deal, The rear window actually feels like plexi-glass and I know from a little experience that you do not want to tint plex-glass or plastic. The car looks awesome with Yellow & Black Stripes and dark windows. Thanks for all of your help.
