Sooo, I have exactly 25,000 miles on my front stock SRT tires at this moment (due to increase in an hour or so when I go get lunch ;) ). In a little over a week, I am driving to VOI, ~1500 miles trip. With the "Lincoln penny" test, Abe's hair nearly to his forehead is covered. So is that enough tread for the trip, or should I change tires before going?

How much mileage have others gotten out of their front stock SRT tires?

I think there are very few that had their runflats on long enough to wear out the fronts.lol

Rather then use the penny, just look at the center tread in betwween the tread are wear bars. When the bars are even with the tread, its time for new ones. If its sunny and dry out, you can push it a bit just fine. But if you plan on actually driving your car at VOI, Id get new tires. We were able to push pretty good on track at VOI9.

Autox and road course, with the oval will require some decent tires. The runflats arent the best, unless you need a RUNFLAT tire. Id look to going to some new PS2's before the drive. Dirves better, handles better. :2tu:

Thanks, already have replacement fronts in my garage actually. What do you mean "center tread in between the tread" - do you mean the center strip(s)? If so, they appear to still be plenty thick.

Yes, in between the center strips, there are little bumps. When a tire is new, they are hard to see. As tire wears, they become more noticeable. Run your finger along the inside of strip and you will feel bumps, again when they get even with tread, its time for new tires.

If you are going to VIO and obviously doing the track, I would get new fronts and back. You do not want to loose a tire at speed. On the average with my 2003, I got about 20,000 on a set and then replaced all four.
