Dear Sean,

This is Phil. I've post you a message a few weeks back regarding the HID. You've asked me whether i brought it back to the local shop or not. To be honest with you, this is the third time i've tried to put in a HID kit for my car. And all without success. all three kit was showing yellowish in color after i turn it on for 3 or 4 secs. Again, do i really need to align those bulb in the exact direction?? The wire on the bulb pointing exactly downward?? Because all those bulbs are already glued in. If i really need to align the bulbs, then i will need to think of a way to get the 9005 ring off the bulb and try to align it to the exact direction and then glue it back on. But sometime after i modified the bulbs, and after i put all the bulbs back on...then the black light cover won't close because the bulb is sticking out....and again...if i force to close the black cover...then the light's direction will change....one light is pointing upward...and the other one is pointing down. I really hope you know what i'm talking about. Please Help Sean, tell me whether i need a brand new set of HID from you or what else can i do?? Also, from your pictures...i seen you even fit the ballast box into the light area itself...amazing....for me...all i can do is to put the ballast outside of the black cover. Awaiting your reply Sean. Thanks in advance!

Hi Phil,

You're going through all the same trouble I had when trying to create our Viper HID Xenon light kit. It was NOT easy, or fun, but the lighting benefit was worth it and in the end, we were able to make it an easy install. Can you send me an e-mail or post a picture of the ones you bought and what the install looked like? Are they Philips / Hella ballasts, or something else? Osram bulbs or? Alignment of the bulb within the housing is important. I'll help you as much as I can, but the most important part of putting HID Xenons in a Viper is getting the right parts to begin with. We ended up selling the sample kits we had on Ebay because we had no use for them on Vipers.

The fuses I sent (to the first few people who bought the HID kits, before I started putting the fuses in with the kits) are to replace the stock 10 amp headlamp fuses. If you have a 1992-1996 RT/10, use the larger ATO fuses, all other years use the mini fuses. 1992-1996 RT/10 fuse panel is under the glovebox, passenger side. All other years, the fuse box (with the headlamp fuses) is in the engine compartment, right above your clutch pedal. Though the HID's operate at well below 10 amps, they spike about 17 amps at start up.
