Hey Tony,

Thanks for your dedication, time and efforts to the VCA forums over many years.

I got VCA Notes and read that you are taking a break from working on the VCA forums. (we're hoping this is just a temporary thing and that you'll be back involved down the road)

When the requests came to move from the old forum format you stepped up and customized the archive “hobby” program you had been working on to fit those requests. No small task with countless hours spent developing and modifying, handling the complaints and problems.

Someone has a problem or question and you solve it or work it out immediately. As far as I know it has all been purely volunteer and without any pay.

I believe that if this thread would establish a new record if it had a post from all of the people you have helped on this site. No doubt you already hold the record for the most use of these smile :) things.

Thanks again and don’t be a stranger.

What can you say? Always helpful and constructive, did a great job moderating and has the best color combo on his car of all time.
I might be biased however on the last part.... :2tu:

Tony,

Remember when you asked me if I had loaned my Avatar out to a Viper Alley guy? I confirmed that I hadn't so you redirected his to say "I ****!" in big blue letters. I think he liked it as he ran with it for several months.

Anyway, many thanks Tony. I can only hope it's temporary.

For those who have not got your notes yet (like me:)) Here is what Marv is talking about. Note the words "slowly" and "over the next several months" Tony is a true-"blue" volunteer and a "red"-blooded Viperholic through and through. :D

WEB SITE SIDEBAR
A few notes from the VCA Web Site, www.viperclub.org.

Long time VCA Forum Coordinator Tony Rickard will be slowly slipping into “Web Site Retirement” to spend more time with his family. Tony has done a fantastic job administering the sites forums, and over the next few months he'll be training his successors, Joe Houss ([email protected]) and Lee Stubberfield ([email protected]). Joe will be attending to Avatars and VCA member area privileges, and Lee will be handling registrations. Yes, Tony’s shoes were so big it will take two people to fill them!

Tony still has his car though right?!

This week - every other day something needs to be re-tuned and he's back to selling it again. Then the next day everything works right and he can't let it go. He got a chip in his new fascia so he might be selling it again...

I got my welcome to the VCA and my very first warning from Tony - wow - he has been doing this for a while...

Thanks for all the help - dinner is on me tomorrow...

Thank you Tony! I think if his time has been voluntary a donation to him or his favorite charity should be made to show our appreciation. Anyone good at organizing something like that? Thanks Again Tony! Kevin

Wow....what do I say?

Yes Mr. Slaughter...I still have my car. :) Contrary to what Bonkers says I have NO chip in the new fascia, the tune is awesome, and I've seen HIS car more than he has!! LOL!!!

Bonks....sadly, the last I heard from my better half is that she will be home (in Annapolis) tomorrow (passed over Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel about an hour ago), so instead of staying here, hanging out with you, driving the Viper, putting grout down in the kitchen......I'll be heading to Annapolis after work tomorrow. She scammed her way onto a return trip for the Donnybrook, from St. Marten to Annapolis on a 72' sailing yacht. :)

That is how most of my spare time is spent now that she lives 4 hours away, and we haven't lived together for almost 4 years. 9:48PM and I just now got to my computer....I just don't have the time I used to have.

I plan to get with Joe very soon and pass on my tips for Avatars...I don't expect much to change there (or anywhere for that matter). And Lee lives about 10 minutes from our house in Annapolis (actually, in Arnold), so I hope to meet up with him one of these weekends. I drive up for the weekend (instead of her coming down) because she started some dive class, which is every Sat. for many months....so Lee and I can get together and chat one of these Saturdays.

What is in store for the site and the club is going to be awesome! Much of any delay in upgrading has been on me, to be honest. Jay has been patiently waiting for me to "do my thing" as I have done for so many years....it took me a long time to finally break down and tell him that I just didn't have the time. Patience will pay off. :)

I am not gone, nor am I leaving. There is so much that needs to be done, and has been in need of being done, for a very long time. I have enjoyed this place and everyone here (and MANY who are no longer here....anyone remember Augs?) and consider everyone a friend. That even means Kid97GTS, Yo-Tony, everyone who has likely been mad at me at one point (or more). :)

Tony, your service has been incredible. I am at your disposal anytime there is not an event scheduled, we can talk at an event too but I would really like to sit down in front of a computer with you and go over some stuff with the master. Actually this weekend works for me, rain and more rain, if the wife is diving, I'll buy lunch! AND show you my new Viper, which is my old Viper, long story.
Call my cell anytime you are free.
