I took a look at my K&N filters today and the passenger side one had wayyyyy too much cleaner oil on it. There was even a small pool of K&N cleaner oil in the bottom of the airbox on the passenger side :buttkick: I opened the throttle body and could clearly see the pink tint of the cleaner oil all the way to the back of the manifold. I cleaned out the filters and both sides of the airbox (driver side looked ok though), but my question is have I possibly done any damage with the oil getting into the manifold and i guess possibly into the engine? If so, what do I do to correct it?

No, don't worry about it. You get more oil returned to the intake and cylinders from the pcv valve. K&N oil is light and harmless. Your big V10 ate it for breakfast.

Should not really be a big deal. We don't have MAF sensors to worry about. May need to make sure the air intake sensor is not coated and make sure the idle air control valve is not gunked up. Map sensor too?? If the car is running ok I would just mop up what you can see and not worry about it. If the idle acts up I would go to the IAC valve and MAP sensor. We must have MAP sensors right??

Engine oil would only get sucked up the drivers side correct?

Are you sure the oil is not from the engine, that is pretty common, especially if you track the car. The valve covers and the area below the intake are both vented to the tubes.

It may not be a big issue, but, the oil from the engine that is vented to the tubes does tend to permenantly coat the intake and and the head ports. It is a sticky consistency in the intake and a black hard coating in the heads. Once again this issue typically only bad on tracked cars. This has to cost a few hp since the wall friction goes up which should change the flow.

I was afraid of that. I'll now sell to you for $20k less than what I was asking for it. You can send me the $60k (instead of the original $80k we agreed on) and I'll get the car straight to you :)

stop putting so much oil on it Chad, just apply a light coat and allow the filters to sit overnight. the oil will soak throughout the filter and you'll be good. the idea is to have the minimum amount of oil to cover the entire filter...
