I toured the Viper plant with my cousin on Monday. It was quite a change to see such a low production assembly plant. I have worked for GM and Ford, and am used to seeing cars whizzing down the assembly line at 50-70 jobs per hour. I am also used to seeing a lot more salaried people, it is great that the craftspeople can work in teams and do their job without all that supervision that is normally needed in an assembly plant. I think it is great that Dodge is keeping this such a low production vehicle also. There were only 6 people taking the tour so that was nice for us. It was incredible to see all those Vipers and Prowlers waiting to be shipped out. Wow, what a picture. The tour guide was excellent and very knowledgeable. I picked up a sweet blue and white leather jacket in the gift shop and some other goodies. They had mostly yellow Vipers being made, but also the dark blue and the red. I thought I remember the tour guide saying there was a 2003 Viper behind closed doors right by the gift shop. All in all, it was a great experience.
