"3. Functional factory or "pop-up" roll bars are acceptable such as Porsche Boxter or BMW Z3 with owners manual that confirms that they are "ROLLOVER PROTECTION" not "Style" bars. Honda S2000 and Dodge Viper convertibles are required to have an aftermarket ROLL Bar."

So is I did the Autoform rollbar would I be OK to run in events at Summit Pt? Soon as I get a chance I'm going to try calling them to see, but thought I'd ask in case someone already knew.

If Summit is requiring you to have a Roll Bar the Auto Form Bar is ok...It is an Approved NARRA Roll Bar. - Just bring the NARRA rules with you when you attend.

The Autoform rollbar is also SCCA approved. If the track applies a broomstick test -- 1 inch of clearance required from top of your helmet to a broom stick laid from the top of the rollbar hoop to the windshield header -- you may want to look into a seat lowering kit depending on how long your torso is

Thanks guys, looks like you're all correct. I got a minute & called them & they want a rollbar that goes over your head & is the same height over drivers & passenger seat, that's it. No requirement on certification, number of contact points, the shoulder bar thing, etc. So yea it sounds like the Autoform would be the ticket ... now to find a good price & someone to help with the install ... before July (July 10th is the event I want to go to).

Call partsrack Link The phone # is at the bottom of the page.

I ordered one last summer, and had it freight shipped right to my house. The quality is fantastic, and JonB really came through. He called me when it was ready to ship, and it arrived exactly as planned... That crate was a work of art :p

You couldn't me a big favor? Could you measure how high the top of the roll bar is at its highest point from the rear deck? The bar has to be higher than the top of my helmet & i'd like to see where it would be, I'm also looking at a seat lowering kit, so that'll help (but I'm tall).

Hate to admit it... But it's not installed as of yet. I ordered it, had it delivered, then had to pack up my life and move across the state for a new job. I won't have a chance to put it on until July/Aug when I get back from an extended overseas trip.

There are lots of folks with this autoform installed in their Gen3 though, so I'm sure someone can chime in here and give you an exact measurement.

Thanks. I know how it is. I have an SVSi shifter on the shelf next to a throtle body - they've been there for over a year - and that's way simpler than getting a rollbar put in, ugh. Now that I've found out I can actually run on the real track in "hi speed" events, I'm kickin myself to get my Viper projects done for an event on 7/10. We'll see how I do, lol. I gotta call JonB, I hope today, I'll also try Autoform for the measurement, they may have that info right at hand.

Thanks guys for the good info, as usual. I'm so stoked to know I can do track events & Summit Pt is like 45 mins away, woohoo.

Here's a few pics of my Autoform installed but bear in mind that I do have the 1'' seat lowering kit due to my looonng torso. Unfortunately the car is on the lift and I can't tale exact measurements at the moment.
