I noticed some red oil on my garage floor over the last couple of days. Probably a lose clamp on the power steering fluid or it was over filled. But I can't seem to find the diptick for the tranny oil.

I want to make sure its not the tranny oil for certain. The color is red and drops appear to be coming from the front of the vehicle just over by the front drivers side left tire. It's going in for service on Monday but I got a long trip I need to take tomorrow. The manual does not give much information on checking the tranny oil level.

Your thoughts would be appreciated.
Cheers and thanks.

There is no dipstick; you would check it by removing the plug used to fill the transmission and the fluid should be up to the hole.

The location of the drip does sound like the power steering pump area.

My power steering fluid is clear for the most part, definitely not red. The antifreeze is sort of an orangish red color though.

2003 SRT-10's came with clear P.S. fluid, while supposedly most (all) 2004 SRT-10 have red P.S. fluid (as do 2005's) which is Mopar's ATF+4.

Factory fill brake fluid is clear as is the tranny fluid for ALL SRT-10's.

I don't think it's the trans. They are filled with Castrol Syntorque, and it's not red. Sort of an amber color. The diff. is not read either. Seems to me it's from the ps system.
