Transmission killed and being rebuilt ...

Okay, just before I was going to dyno my car I pushed it really ******* the highway. When I shifted from 4th to 5th and I accelerated the shifter pop out ( at 150mph). No more 6th gear. I can engage the 5th but doesn't stay in place. I presume I killed the syncrho 5-6 ring. I have no idea what went wrong. Anyhow my transmission is done.

So my transmission will be rebuilt ...

Is there something that I can improve on this transmission to make it stronger ?

What parts should be changed ?

Can I rebuild it myself or it is better to let a transmission shop to do the job ?

Sounds very similar to what happened to me only I was in 3rd and it killed 1-3. I feel your pain.
