Ok I have only had my 06 coupe about 3 weeks and havn't driven it much , but upon driving it yesterday I noticed a slight transmission whine on the highway, which changed pitch with gears, was slightly less in 5th and disappeared with clutch pushed in. Is a slight whine normal or should I be worried, the car only has 4,000 miles so I dont know, couldnt have been abused that hard. any help guys?

Probably normal and just new noise to you. If the car has an aftermarket shifter like an MGW it will also transmit more noise.

Does it do it in neutral with the clutch out? If so, does the noise go away when you press the clutch lightly? If you can make the sound come and go with the clutch it's possible you may have an early failure of the throw out bearing. Or, as mjorgensen said, it could be normal and just be a new noise to you. Turn the radio up! If it's problematic it will show itself soon enough...:drive:

It does have a/m short throw, no noise in neutral so not throw out. Just gonna get with the next gen3 guy I meet at next cruise in or show and see.
