Except a TT Gallardo.

You may be correct for an all out TT Gallardo build(120-150K just for the turbo build) on race gas. But pump gas for pump gas, the Viper will destroy the Gallardo.

Once the new wave of TT Vipers with better turbo systems and better engine management come out, the Viper will enjoy a healthier margin of victory than the video posted below.

At the last TI, a couple of TT Vipers beat all the UGR Lambos in attendance.

This is a regular 6000-6200 RPM wet sump Viper motor with some mid sized turbos.

When the 7500 RPM larger turbo sizing Vipers that are starting to come out show up, it is game over for the Lambos because the drive line is so fragile to make the 1400-1500 RWHP. The displacement of the Viper makes it waaay easier to make the big power as compared to the boost it would take to do the same on the Lambo. Not to mention the larger turbos necessary to make the power will be harder for the Lambo to spool giving the advantage to the Viper again.

Blow up a Lambo transmission and be prepared to drop 25K plus transport, labor and down time for another one.

Way to go Paolo........you must a done a killer job building that motor. The owner has GOT to be using good C-14 or C-16 fuel to keep it together....also have you noticed that high horsepower Lambos are not making that much rwtq compared to the kinda rwtq TWIN TURBO VIPERS are making? Last time I went to Bradenton the TWIN TURBO LAMBOS were all a lot slower then the TURBO VIPERS at that race.




BTW, I understand the new owner of that car recently trapped 153 MPH @ the 1/4 with that car on about 14 PSI! After 20+K miles on the cast piston motor and turbo system!

The original owner went 100-150 MPH .5 seconds faster than a Veyron on ~10-11 PSI on 93 pump and water-****!

I have a roe racing twin turbo and a 70 challenger twin turbo 91 octane cars and drive them every day its dry and clear.
They are just normal cars, well normal cars with power.
Just take car of it and it will last.

Roy, that was on a stock cast piston motor on 93 pump and water-**** that went 20+K miles and trapped 153 in the 1/4 mile, not a built motor..... A bone stock 2000 RT/10!

You are correct, the high powered Lambos that are making 1400-1500+ to the wheels are only trapping low to mid 160's in the 1/4. It only takes ~ 1100 RWHP to trap the same MPH in a TT Viper.

The Lambos do have the advantage of a higher revving motor with less torque and AWD to hook, but as you can see in the above video, if the Viper hooks, it has more TQ at the hit and should therefore be faster. I would say the Lambo is a lot easier of a car fr the average driver on the street to hook the power......

Don't believe what that person is sayin......he is NOT speaking from experience with TWIN TURBO VIPERS.....maybe mustangs or something......

you can have a 1200rwhp built engine car, putt around town, go on long drives and get 100K miles. or you can have fun tearing it up and get 10K miles out of it.

Drive it like grampa on a sunday cruise and it will last 10s of thousands of miles. Beat the **** out of it like you should and it will not last as long.

My TT Viper has hundreds upon hundreds of 1/4 mile passes and even more street pulls... stuff is going to break eventually... 1200 rwhp build is apples to oranges on the low power bolt on stock motor stuff.

Jon, if you were talking about a Pagani Zonda, Ferrari Enzo, F-40,F-50, Koenigsegg, Ford GT.................... I would have to agree. Aside from sounding cool, the Gallardo IMO looks like a silly Green, Orange wedge/doorstop. I was at a TX mile event watching all kinds of "Exotic" TT Gallardos, FGT's all weekend. At the end of the 3rd day, a slammed blue/white GTS rolled in and put them all to shame......... Sorry, there is nothing all that special about the looks of the TTG. From the eliteist $$$$$$$$ standpoint, I am sure most would agree with you. From the awesome platform with low torque and high revving motor, I agree with you.

Not that many people can afford to spend over 100-150K for a car and another 150K to twin turbo it. The Viper done right, not to mention even a Corvette handed all the Lambos their a$$es at the last TI. I know this is the Mustang mentality, but a Mustang cannot be argued by anybody to be any where near as hot looking of a car as the Viper. IMO the Viper gives up nothing in looks or performance to the Gallardo. I give the nod to the TTG on the street for ease of operation for the average driver. As far as a pump gas street car is concerned, the Viper has it all over the Gallardo.

I am glad you are really a TT VIPER owner......I am surprised at some of your comments though because you are making statements that will cause others to think badly of TT Vipers and therefore want to depreciate the value of our cars. Of course anyone can take any car, bone stock anything, VW, family driver, whatever, abuse and run the heck out of it and it is gonna break and not last and be a piece of junk.....I am different then you as I am a 65 yr old man that has been fortunate enough to own these toys and I never abuse them. I do go to the drag strip....race....have fun and then baby my TT LIKE A old man will as I have NO reason to show off on the street and tear my stuff up for a free show to someone... I drag raced S/C and S/G NHRA for 30 yrs.....been there, done that.....but I have always owned high horse cars just for my own drug of choice.....I like to know what my cars will do and don't talk when I can't back it up.....you like to run your cars ******* the street and all that I use to do back in the day......but please don't make everyone think that TT VIPERS are not gonna hold up and depreciate our Vipers to those that Will then be thinking all of us dog our cars out and put it up for sale because it is on it's last leg and fixin to break when that is not the case with most of us....when you try to sell yours, I would even be afraid to buy from you saying things like that.....Hey......we are in the same boat.......just don't seem to agree on everything......HAPPY VIPERING and keep that TWIN TURBO VIPER right side up.

nothing I am saying is taking away any credibility of the VIPER... or should it cause depreciation...thats crazy talk.

Its just truth that any car built to four digit HP numers if used to its capacity is going to have way more frequent "failures" or require more maintenance than a normal car. This is true in any platform. Maybe 5k miles is pessimistic, but noone really knows since we don't know how hard someone will drive the car theoretically :D

Jon, no agenda here. I love Vipers and have commented about the relative strengths of each platform and what I like about each one.

You saying a Gallardo has the advantage of being a Lambo may be an accurate assessment for all the fan boize and kids reading magazines out there. My earlier remarks had nothing to do with TI or TX mile, rather anywhere I would see the cars. To put things in perspective, we all must remember the Gallardo is the budget Lambo. It is not the Murcielago nor is it the Aventador. That is why I referenced the true exotic cars like the Pagani Zonda, Ferrari Enzo, F-40,F-50, Koenigsegg, Ford GT. I am not a hater. You like harsh angles where I prefer curves, you like doorstops and I like clownshoes, LOL! I think we should leave it at that. Ultimately, both are great and desirable cars. Have a nice day.

I have 15k miles on my TT car, The first 6k miles it was supercharged and then I went TT. Had it not been for my driving error and missing a shift and over revving the sh*t out of the engine, it would still be running awesome. :(

I have 2 Twin Turbo Vipers. One needs a tune right now, but both run fine. the cars will last as long as anything else depending on how you drive them. I guarantee you my red one is running fine. I could go out right now and leave my pump gas in and grenade the motor in 10 minutes if I really upped the boost and tried.

Just because your car has more than 1000 HP doesn't mean that you race everywhere that you go.

I do agree with Paolo on the cooling issue with the front mount in front of the radiator.

I wonder how many of the Lambo Gallardo Lovers really even thought about them before Heffner and UGR put them on the map with their TT Set ups.

There is only one TT Viper that I know of here, plus a TT SRT10 Ram. Guessing, there would be about a dozen Vipers here in all, but I have no idea where they all are as there is no club here for them. Viper are way more rare here than Lambos - which have their own dealership here. There's a couple of Asian brothers next bay up from me that have 2 identical white Aventadors - same license plates too except 1 digit - very cool when they drive in convoy. That's out of my league for now lol

I've had 2 TT vipers. Fastest GTS on street tires and the fastest SRT viper. Both when driven correctly, have been fantastic. If you over rev them, they'll blow up. You put in crap gas, they'll blow up. If you do stupid things, they blow up. If you buy a car in the over 1k power range, plan on beating the crap out of it and not expecting some issues, that's buyer error. Anyone that has raced anything, at any power level, knows if you race long enough, things will break. Both of my cars were/are underground cars.

I tell you to run a 1k+ TT Viper really Hard all the time on the streets is hard, just not enough road space. Unless you go to the track once or twice a week, I don't see any other way of really running it hard.

I take mine out once a week or so, and I get on it almost every time, not easy though as I'm looking for clear hwy. and not looking to pass any other cars on my way past 160 mph.

Cruising at 80, put in on third and step on it for a few secs.. and you are close to 180 mph...(all while I scare the crap out of myself) how many times can you do that on a hwy with even lite traffic?

I'm lucky, I live in the country, 1 mile from a 4 lane interstate that rarely see's traffic outside of 8am and 5pm
