I have been reading the info from the v10 nationals and I am blown away by what Heffner Performance and Underground Racing have achieved. Not saying others weren't impressive but these are the two that stood out to me.

Jason Heffner with basically a stock GTS and his $30k turbo package went deep into the 9's boost only. That is basically a performance bargain IMO. Am I the only one that remembers how long no one was running 9's except the N2O boys. Now it seems like everyone is. I want to run a nine <crying>.

And then there is BlownGTS. With not much more that a bolt on paxton kit, smaller pulley and some good tuning he also went deep into the nines. WOW!!! I can't believe how easy it has become for a six speed viper to run a nine second pass.

Congrats to all of the front runners for letting all of us be capable of writing the check and have a nine second car also. Hope to be among you soon. :2tu:

YOu said it Gary, seems like those tuners who specialize in boost are all running 9's now. Man, just a little while ago, it was elusive.. The power was always there, it's been putting it to ground is what the problem has been..

They ran some fast cars as did Doug Levin with a customers car and Dr. Roof with another Levin car.

$8500 worth of Roe s/c and nos and a 9.85 @ 144 mph is a bargain to me. Maybe I need to get a job  to afford your bargain prices.

bwaaaaaaaahahahaahahahahahah

Good one Tony I need to get a job with you.
You did a KICK A$$ job this weekend. Maybe at the next race you can teach me how to drive my Viper, I think that I already have the go-carts down.

First Roe blower in the 9's and still no intercooler. :2tu: And no internal engine work either. I bet we see a Roe blown 9 second pass sometime this year on boost only once the intercooler comes out.

Gary I couldn't agree with you more ! I wasn't at the V10's in FL , but based on the feedback from people that did attend it looks like Heffner really went about and beyond..and I don't mean in the Time Slip area.
I'm referring to all the Assistance Jason Heffner and his team offered the other racers..From Replacing broken Half shafts to tightening up loose rockers... Heffie even went as far as offering to swap out one of the racers Clutches !!( Keep in mind that NONE of these individuals were previous clients of Jason's).
And to top it off Heffner never asked for a dollar in exchange for his Labor.

IMHO It's actions like this that really make Heffner the class act he is !

I totally agree. Jason has set the bar very high - not only in the performance of his products, but also in the area of good will and helping others.

I called him yesterday and gave him a hard time for running a 9.7 in his TT. I told him he was making me look bad. He told me he tried to hold back a little, but his right foot just wouldn't let him. All of us in Viperland are lucky to have him on our side. :2tu: :headbang:

Like I said these were the two that really stood out to me from what I have read. Jason because he is the first reasonably priced turbo boost only 6speed car to run a 9, and blown gts for what should be obvious reasons (if some folks would take the blinders off)... New tuner, stock viper with a paxton kit and a fuel system, right off the bat goes out and runs deep into the nines and it's no big deal. Ha ha ha... That's funny. So the guy that brought the car down was arrogant or was a total lying scumbag or however you want to describe him, you have to be able to respect what he built, and in my opinion it is one of the most impressive things the viper community has seen in a long time.

Tony,
Was your performance impressive? Absolutely! I would love to be that fast, but a blower nitrous car in the nines has been done before.

BTR probably has the best bang for the buck with there consistant 9 second passes, but once again he's been doing it for a while. Same thing with RSI. They've been fast as hell for a long time, but it's nothing new. The new and exciting stuff, for me, came from the heffner camp, UGR, and I should definetly mention DLM with Roofs car. He sounds like a great guy and I hope to meet up with him some day.

So, we must agree on one thing. The performance advancements in recent months make it very exciting to be a viper owner these days.
