This was in the February 2008 Issue of Robb Reports - Car of the Year. Painful read....

VIPER you either get it or you don't
Reviewer makes some valid points if you are of the view that cars are transportation
or that cars of this ilk must have all the electronic bells and whistles
When people can't understand, it's really not worth wasting the effort to explain or defend
the product, they are incapable of experiencing what the Viper is about.
God bless Dodge for understanding OUR definition of performance!!!!
Keep up the great work
The Viper does pretty much the complete opposite by catering to an old-school, low frills Cobra-era formula of performance, namely, big engine, strong chassis and suspension and big brakes. And not much else.
Long live the king.

I love "plastic interior" comments. I wish they'd name the cars that don't have plastic interiors so I could have something to compare it to.
it looks like they are labeling the 08 viper car of the year, but then on the same page saying how horrible the entire car is?
They didn't name the Viper the car of the year. The magazine was dedicated to high-end performance cars (Robb Report is all about luxury items)... and the car of the year was the Audi R8.
Number 2 was the Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano
Number 3 was the Porsche 911 Turbo Cabriolet
The Lambo LP640 Roadster took Number 9
The Viper was dead last at Number 14.
