I got the idea from a guy on the board named Sparky.
He used a extra set of front side viper logos.
I got out the tape measure and decided the sides would be a bit too large for the sill (sparky did not have pics). But the rear logo appeared to be smaller and fit better. Then i went to the snakehead logos. The rear trunk logo would fit but a little to small so i went for the hood snakehead and it is a bit much but I like it. The part cost $130 from my local dodge parts dept.
The mod took about 20 mins to get them to line up the best i could with the button covers in the way.
I think the passenger side turned out better than the driver. Just by the way you read it left to right.

Yup, looks great.. I did this about 7 months ago on my GTS when I bought Silver VIper GTS logos for the hood. I took the original red ones off and put GTS on the side sills. I like the entire "Viper RT/10" look though..

I can get them, but they don't look as good as yours. I place them up more towards the engine. Also, I only had "GTS", not Viper (sorry, thought I did) on each side. Looks good, but I think yours looks better with the full script on it with the logo.

Gerald

p.s.
YOu might also watch out putting the logo where you did. If your door starts to sag a little (which it will) it will tear off the logo ... Right where you put it, there is a tab that goes into the slot...

Hey Jim,
Looks Great! You're always coming up with something cool. I didn't realize there was that much door clearance either. If it's a problem, you can always replace it with a fairly large vinyl yellow snake head logo on the vertical door sill. Time to call your friends in Canada.

Gerald,Newport viper,

The door clears by alot... I mean at least a 1/2 inch of clearance.
smile.gif

Ulysses,
I just wiped them down with a soft rag that had rubbing alcohol
on it to clean them. And nothing on them after that.
The car only has 5,000 miles so that is probably why they still look shiny
smile.gif

Ken,

I was worried about heat on them and they held up just fine but I would never put vinyl graphics on them, they would melt for sure.

VERY KEWL!!!

I too was concerned about clearance for the L bracket on the bottom of the door...But with 1/2 clearance, I would not worry even with a little door sag.

Re the snake head medallion, I believe they come with a curve to them (at least I know the trunk one does)...

Did you flatten the medallion out before sticking it on?

Jim:

That really looks first rate! Probably something the factory should have considered since they might have used existing parts twice. But let me get this straight - Neither you or Gerald has had a problem with the heat...no discoloration or wrinkling/shrinking (or fire for that matter)?

If the location is safe...this will be my next "mod". VipWiz...place my order!

tomer, the snakehead came completely flat.
no problem on the install!!

Citysnake,
no heat issue at all after at 3 hour drive they were just fine.

Viperwizard

again i used the rear viper rt/10 logo and hood snakehead logos.

2 part # pf0004y list 54.85 net 41.14 amount 82.28
2 part # gc43wyt list 34.70 net 26.02 amount 52.04
sub 134.32
tax 10.74 Total 145.06

Maybe your price was higher because they were for front fender
logos and not the rear that are smaller and fit better, imho.

Thanks again guys. I hope everyone can make this mod happen because it is easy not too pricey and looks good!!

Be happy to post photos. Mine will be sapphire blue on black which should be way more subtle.

Jim, real nice of you to offer your "find" to all of us! Thanks. Hope I can return the favor some time!

citysnake,
Thanks!
just one big happy viper family!
I am just returning the favors that I have received from other members about cool mods.
This board is the best place if you own a viper. on my own I would have never have know about a lot of issues.

Viper $80k; Info from VCA website PRICELESS!
