I know a bunch of people are wondering how hard it would be to retrofit ABS onto a pre 01 car.

Has anyone does this?

What if you were to do a 4 wheel brake upgrade at the same time to avoid buying too many stock brake components?

Ideas?

Flames?

Your $.02?

Yes, a number of folks - including me - have installed an ABS system from Archer Motorsports on their 96 - 00 cars.

Search the archives (look for ABS or Joe Dozzo) and you'll find a couple of posts I made (circa Feb 02) about the install and my complete satisfaction.

I've seen others paste links to archive threads in their posts - and I'd do so but I haven't figured out that technology yet!

No affiliation with Archer ...

i hear of a kit from archer that has a four channel system instead of a 3 channel that comes stock on 01-02.

Who has done this? Cost?

i tried searching, but no topics answer these two questions

The Archer system is a 3 channel system - or more specifically, the system I purchased last year from Archer was a 3 channel system - that's all they had, there was no 4 channel system available from them (or anyone I could find) for the Viper. They were very good folks to work with, call them to see if they've released something newer.

On the search thing, it's post 5248, hopefully the following will get you there... If not, might check the search date is set to all posts...

Cost in Feb of 2002 was $5800.

PS _ I just checked the ViperSpeed website. I suspect there is some inconsistency with regard to their ABS offering... The text definitely says 4 channel, but the "close-up" picture IS the system I have and it is most definitely 3 channel.

All I can say is call them to be certain.
