I just had my whole interior finished in time to have installed for NY/CT VCA meet at Tobay Beach for tommorrow! I was so looking foward to that meet considering the terribly cold and long winter we had here in the northeast. Been in my garage polishing, adding mods all winter and then?

Well Chad at Snakehydes finished my interior Thursday and I paid big time to have everything shipped to me here in Port Washington, L.I. FOR OVERNIGHT GUARANTEED DELIVERY BEFORE 12:00 for saturday. Well 12:00 comings along and no delivery, I call and give tracking #. They say we show its still in transit but its scheduled for delivery today. They say it still could be delivered before 2:00PM. I said okay I hope it comes. They never show and upon calling them they tell me then that its in Albany, GA. They don't know why, and they apologize and tell me it will be here on monday.

I'M BUMMED!

Both Fed-Ex and UPS f***ed me that same way. Once for BMW parts and once on important documents. I called them up and they both did nothing!!! So I ship stuff OVER NIGHT with a guarantee and they don't live up to their part. They don't even reimburse you or nothing. They pretty much say oh well. Who can you trust?

FedEx got my Jeep snorkle hung up two days in seattle. It was being shipped from a warehouse in Houston for delivery in DE. Still haven't quite figured that one out yet...

Chad sent my interior by FedEx. It arrived *only* 4 days late. I feel your pain.
All of these companies seem to be incompetent. Originally there were these big excuses and they would do something to ease the pain. Guess what happened ? Nothing...

(By the way : Adam, sorry for not responding to your E-mails, but I was abroad on a little trip).

Paying for insurance to ship UPS is a waste of money. They will not pay a claim unless they
do the packing. I just finished going to court with them. I shipped an antique diving helmet to
Texas last year and they almost destroyed it. Package was hand delivered to UPS and they inspected
it and wrote the insurance on it. Insured for $5000.00. $2800.00 to repair it and they refused
to pay. Took 4 court appearences and a lot of research but I finally got my money. There are a number of websight that deal with consumer complaints
and one of the biggest is against UPS. They come up with anything they can to get out of
paying on a legitimate claim and they rely on the consumers ignorance and the fact that most consumers
don't want to fight a corporation in court.

UPS Does ****, but I still use them. Convenience I guess and length of time I've been using them.
Thing is, even though something gets shippied overnight on a Friday, there is a little sticker that says "Saturday" that has to be on the package or you won't see it till Monday. And, the person shipping has to indicate "Saturday" in his shipping book or you won't see it till monday.

As for claims? They pay. You have to fight them a little, but I had a $5000 claim paid. I settled for $3000, but it was paid and since the package was materialisticly worth much less, I made out okay.
