I am going to the V-10 Nationals to give my car a try with some mods I have here and there added on my SC system. I get excited about the idea then it goes in the toliet when I think of people like Dr. Roof and other people out there with high SC cars. Even with a SC set up I have, I'm still way out gunned in my class! :( :( Can we make those cars handicapped like putting cement blocks in their trunks? Even with that done, I'm sure I will still be out classed.

Agree, even after Macedo gets done I won't be anywhere near these big HP numbers. Horsepower is still a measure of cubic dollars. I think maybe making the big guns start out in 4th or 5th gear will give us a chance, maybe.

I don't have anywhere near the HP of Roof but it comes down to reaction time and consistency.

Also, I got lucky and won the street tire shootout with less HP than at least two others. You can win but you have to be good on the tree.

The racing is in index class so you don't have to run a stellar number to win just don't break out. With your mod's you should have a solid 10 second car, maybe a nine with a good setup and pass.

Adam & VIPR GTS -
It would be terrific if you could attend :2tu: .
It's always difficult to race against big wallets and big race packages. However, David Boggs structured the race rules so everybody would have a chance to win. Don't be intimidated - you will have a chance to compete and have a great time doing it.

Hope to see you there :)

Doug, thank you. I hope to make it but I would rather Larry not feel rushed and keep doing his great job. If not, I will be at the kentucky event.

AB,

BTW, great to speak with you last week and I look forward to meeting you in Bradenton.

You could very easily win in your class, just run your own race in a bracket your comfortable with and I'm sure you'll do just fine.

Tony,

Same thing applies for you as well, Sir. Chris Napalitano is running less components than you'll be running and he just ripped off a [email protected] on Kumho's, so you never can tell what is to be expected. I look forward to seeing you again next month!

Don't be intimidated! this is why the index system is the best system for now. It keeps people racing those with similar ET's and as your driving improves you can move up a class.

I'm sorry to disagree but some of us don't have that much invested in our Vipers. I'm running a $ 16,950.00 package on my car.

I have always been a proponent of dollars vs. hp, but when it comes down to race day, it shouldn't matter how much you have invested, but how well you can use the power in an effort to win. I have succumed to the fact that the Viper "world" is different from most of the sanctioned racing that I have participated in over the years. Viper folks like to spend lots of money on mods.......some of these folks never race, they just like to have the bragging rights to the most expensive stuff. Thats a good thing..I guess.

So don't worry about how much you have invested, we are all in the same arena and equal on race day. My mid 9 second Viper will be going head to head with cars that have 3 to 4 times the investment. A victory for you then, becomes that much more sweeter. I've got cavities in my sweet tooth from these victorys over time!

Tom

P.S. Bricks in the trunk will only help with traction and will not handicap your competition. The street tire shootout at this event will be met with a few surprizes from the JEDI hut!
