Has anyone come up with a good mount for a V1 in the 2008s?

I did a search and found some ideas, but not necessarily for 2008s.

In particular, I am looking for the following mount in a 2008 Coupe:

1. Good scanning view out the windshield.

2. Does not obstruct MY view out the windshield.

3. Easily and quickly detached (without unscrewing things, etc.) if necessary based on roadside stop. :drill:

4. SOLID mount in that it will not move around during spirited driving.

5. Secure mount in that it will not come OFF in spirited driving and become a projectile.

One or more of the above reasons have caused me to avoid mirror mounts in the past and have it hardwired in the left front corner of the dash.

Thanks for your thoughts!

Anything that will work in an 03 will work in an 08. I have been hardwiring these things for years... I'll try to grab some pics tomorrow.

Hardwired mine took a feed from the cigar lighter ran the wire up the pillar than using the stock sucker mount fitted it above the mirror with the botton edge resting on the mirror.

Works fine and is well supported, and on track days I never even bother to take it off.

Just in France where the Police take them out the car and stamp on them.

Thanks for all of the replies.

I just cannot tell from the Country Joy website (which I saw in my seach)if that mount will be very secure or will flop around. So I will be interested to hear how you like yours. I assume you ordered the Valentine 1 Mount in 3/4"?

My understanding is tha the invisicord just allows you to tap in to the mirror for power.

Thanks again for the ideas, and let me know how you like the mount.

Very secure. We hardwired mine into the wiring for the mirror ('01 RT-10). The mount + the invisicord + our local VP's attention to detail (he used OEM-looking shrinkwrap) makes mine look factory. Highly recommend.
