Just finished getting my intake valves replaced. Ron Jarosiewicz of Dick Scott Dodge did an admirable job in this difficult task. Looking underhood afterwards I am unable to tell it was touched with the exception of new style intake manifold fasteners. Ron, like Tom Sessions, placed cotton towels I brought along to cover the bodywork. I have not detailed the car yet but I do not expect to find anything. Everything looked great. Thanks Ron! :)

Rod Harris, the service manager, was extremely helpful in all aspects. A real Viper and car guy.

This was my first experience at Dick Scott Dodge and I can now state we do have a qualified Viper dealership in the area. It is some 45 miles from my house but well worth the drive. As I expressed in earlier posts one scratch would turn the overall experience into a nightmare. I can now sleep again knowing that my SRT is fixed and in great condition. I hope everyone has a similar positive experience.

This was Ron's and Dick Scott Dodge's first SRT valve replacement. Both Ron and Rod indicated that it took considerable more than the stated time to do the job right. I obviously am thankful that they took the time and sincerely hope that DC makes the appropriate adjustment in the time scheduled. 6.4 hours is lunacy. Ron indicated it took more than 10 hours overall.

On the drive home it was very evident that the performance was indeed improved. My seat of the pants calibrated measurement indicates that I have gained back the 40+ lb-ft and 25+ hp. I will dyno it soon and verify the results but I am quite confident regarding the improvement. Have a drag strip date scheduled soon as well.

Thanks again Ron and Rod for everything. You have provided a renewed confidence in Viper service. :usa:

One additional note for fellow owners. When cleaning up the underbody to make sure no residual fluids, etc were present Ron used brake cleaning fluid to clean the frame. In 4 locations the frame paint just wiped off. They are the locations where 2 round tubes are welded in place and where 2 cross braces are added. I have no idea if there was anything unique about my car. It has definitely not been serviced before as I picked it up at CAAP. Rod was as perplexed as I was about how this could happen but did a stand up job in getting it resolved. He had the body shop manager come in and mask, prep with a zinc based primer and then finish paint the region. The finished product looks great with no noticeable difference from other areas of the frame.

A happy ending to be sure, but clear confusion as to how the paint in those local areas could be so poor with near zero durability.

Thanks again Rod and everyone else at Dick Scott Dodge that assisted.

First off I do not really care to have an identifier for the affected cars. Once they are fixed they are the same as other cars. No better and no worse. Your question implies something different.

Secondly, the fasteners are the same as are being used in production today. So happy hunting!!!
