Wow - just got back from a great weekend of doing the Ram SRT-10 VCA Edition pace lap in Daytona with my dad, followed by a quick return for the SCCA Double National event at Texas World Speedway where I raced my Viper (6th Saturday partly due to missing qualifying while travelling, 3rd Sunday out of 10 cars). About the time I thought it could not get any better, I got a call this afternoon that my Ram was already delivered to Huffines Dodge in Lewisville and would be ready for delivery by 5 pm. It is now safely at my house after giving rides to family and neighbors.

Life is good!

Special thanks to Daimler Chrysler, Dodge and the VCA. Thanks also to Reliable Transportation for the quick safe delivery of my Ram.

Did you guys pace the Truck race? I thought is was going to be the 500, but never saw a Blue Ram anywhere.

It sounds very cool! Enjoy.

The blue truck paced the Truck Race and really showed cool -- however, dumb announcers never said a word about that dynamite pace truck! On the other hand, they waxed on about the Vette pace car for the 500. Oh well, the Ram SRT-10 was styling!!

Dave,
Congratulations on your new truck. I'll be at Motorsport Ranch on the 26th, any chance you'll be around? I'd love to see your truck. Also, congratulations to you and everyone at Viperspeed for the good showing at College Station.

The VCA trucks did a parade lap Friday before the truck race. There were also 50 Black SRT-10's that were allocated to Dodge dealers in Southeast States that were part of the parade lap - 100 total. The actual pace trucks were built with SRT parts EXCEPT for one thing - they have automatic transmissions! A NASCAR requirement according to SRT.

I noticed in the post on difficulies in getting SRT's, a guy mentioned 2 truckloads of black SRT's heading east in Louisiana recently - part of the 100 trucks heading from Saltillo to Daytona???

Doc:

I'll be in town the 26th - let me know the details of your schedule and we can try to hook up. Also - let me know if you got charged for the track time at the MSR when I was there as your guest.

Dave,
I'll check my schedule and see when we can hook up. Don't worry about the track time at the Ranch. It's my treat.
