Greetings!

It is my understanding that the VCA Edition SRT-10 Coupe program is 100% "go" as of this post. Now this is NOT the raffle and does not involve a Comp Coupe. This is for a very select run of fifty (50) VCA Edition SRT Coupes in Viper Red with Stone White stripes. They also include the new 5-spoke wheels, custom VCA badging, as well as red accents on the seats, steering wheel, shifter and hand brake. Until I get Austin to cough up a nice Photoshop, here is what it may look like from the sides (thanks to SW for borrowing the picture of his car):

You must be registered for see images

Now, here is the kicker: The deadline to submit your name for this drawing is THIS Friday, December 2nd. The drawing itself is to take place on Monday, December 5th. You will then have two weeks to arrange the purchase through your favorite Dodge dealer at the price you negotiate with them. The sticker on this car is $91,990, including the gas guzzler tax and destination fees. You will be able to pick up your new VCA Edition Coupe at a special ceremony at the Barrett-Jackson auction the weekend of January 20-22, 2006 in Scottsdale, Arizona.

To my knowledge very few have received the paperwork necessary to enter this drawing. The other Zone and Regional officers I have spoken with have not, so please don't blame them. As such, we are hosting this paperwork on the Kansas City VCA web site for you:

http://kansascityvca.com/vcacoupe/registrationform.doc
This is the form you will need to print, fill out, and fax in to VCA HQ this week in order to be considered for this car.

http://kansascityvca.com/vcacoupe/programguidesheet.doc
This is the program guideline that shows you what the requirements are for the program and what is expected from you as a buyer.

http://kansascityvca.com/vcacoupe/letter.doc
This is a letter from Steve Wedel, our National President, that outlines the offer and provides some details on the car itself.

Please understand that you have a VERY limited time to submit your name for this drawing. The previous VCA Edition car (yellow/black SRT-10 convertible) was a huge hit. Like that car, this VCA Edition Viper has a special paint and interior scheme that will not be repeated. Rare indeed!

If you have any other questions or comments, please contact VCA Headquarters at (800) 998-1110. This is one fantastic opportunity that is EXCLUSIVE to VCA members. Don't let it slip away...

Chris, thanks for posting this. It should be on ALL the Forums as everyone, regardless of the year of their car deserves a fair shot at this. AND the time frame is way short on this deal. I sat down at the computer before hitting the sack SPECIFICALLY because I was worried about it as I have received nothing in the mail. Thanks for making it easy with my first forum hit! And to the powers that be...maybe these should be a sticky on both forums?

Well, first off it isn't a "sticky" and will die a natural death for lack of interest if that is the case (although it is nice that both of you decided to bump it by replying). Second, this is for ALL VCA members, including those that own Gen I & II Vipers. Otherwise you wouldn't be allowed to buy raffle tickets for the Comp Coupe. Or are you that devisive?

I won't bother replying again and I would recommend that everyone else just let this thread die if there is no interest in life beyond 2002. Happy trails.

PS. Don't you find it ironic that Gen I (and mostly Gen II) owners post at will in the SRT forums and highjack many of the threads out of spite, but you circle the wagons for such completely non-threatening (and all-inclusive) posts like this? Again, don't reply otherwise this thread might continue...

PPS. And Lee, I didn't see your reply until after I posted this. Not directed at you my good friend!

Hey Chris, thank you for posting here, I dont usually bounce thru the other forums and would have missed it. Sometimes I think a few other members just like see thier number of posts go up by finding trivial things to complain about.

I agree. It seems the Gen 1&2 forum get the most traffic, so all important notices should be posted here to make sure they get seen by the most members instead of just by those who focus on 1 specific forum on the website.

I'll reply to this the only way I see fit.......DAAAAAMN, that's one beautiful car.

Makes me feel "poor" looking at the 91,990 sticker, and "scared" about the part, "arrange the purchase with Dealer and negotiate a price with them".

Jeeeeeeez, does it go up or down from 91,990 ??

Love the car, who cares about the forum issue, any Gen I or Gen II guy with enough $$$ and luck would love this car.

KERSVPR - ACELLR8, got any extra $loot$ sitting around ? Ker, give me some of that John DEERE money ! ACELLR8 - sell that 1AD !!

1996 GTS - Stock ( shut down for the winter )

FROM Y2K5SRT:

Well Y2k, lets address your "statements":

1. You have never bought a Viper in your life (sorry, parents buying it for you doesn't count) and simply can't comprehend protecting that investment.

First of all, parents purchasing my car has nothing to do with it. Just because I was fortunate enough to have my parents buy me the car of my dreams does not mean anything and does not give you any right to judge me. From my experience, people that bring this up are usually jealous. You have something you want to say? Oh and by the way if you want to play the judge card, I guess I could judge you as being an arrogant, headstrong, VCA Regional Club President, but that is just my opinion. Now lets try to stay on topic.

2. You constantly harp on the SRT "sitting on dealer lots". Wait a minute - production of the 2001 RT/10 ended in August of 2001. Yet you claim your parents bought it NEW from a dealer - in March of 2003. The hypocrisy is absolutely stunning and even a bit nauseating when you think about it.

Yes this is very true. Glad to hear that you know your facts but you did not look hard enough. It took me 6 months to find a new RT/10 but wait a minute, it can take me 6 minutes to find a NEW SRT-10. See the problem here??? Oh and before you say, that we are in 2005 and that I am talking about 2005, I will do you one better, I can find 2004's still on lots and MORE THAN ONE!!!!! :nono:

3. You really can't grasp just how much you are insulting and hurting your fellow Viper owners when you post this crap. It is the constant stream of negativity from an isolated few that affects the SRT more than anything else. But that is obviously your goal.

My goal?? My goal is not to hurt people's feelings, and if I have sorry but then you are just too sensitive. I obviously hurt yours but I could care less. I am just stating my opinions and backing them up with FACTS. All you do is make personal attacks and then try to cover it with a few "facts". This also goes back to the old saying, since you seem to like them, "If you do not like it, then just do not read it!"

4. You don't understand the history of the Viper or of the people that actually bought them. And you certainly don't respect them. After all, anybody that has a picture of themselves as the centerpiece of their Viper avatar just may be a tad self-centered. Ya think?

I do not understand the history of the Viper?? Excuse me? I have tracked the Viper since production, bought just about all of the merchandise at one point or another, been on this forum before owning a Viper, and have helped my club more than you could ever do. So once again, try to know your facts before you unleash personal attacks. YOU DO NOT KNOW ME SO STOP TRYING!

Before you dig this hole any deeper - you need to step away from the keyboard. Chris has volunteered countless hours bringing his region back from the dead, posting hours and hours of entertaining and helpful writings and pictures here, served as a Viper ambassador to elderly gents getting a wish for a ride fulfilled in the rain, raise thousands for Big Brothers / Big Sisters with his local region, moderated and volunteered his time for many hours, traveled to national VCA meetings on his own dime to represent YOUR interests, along with his wife - singlehandedly (doublehandedly?) put on one of the most outstanding VCA Zone Rendezvous's ever and lots of other things I can't recall at this point. DO NOT turn this into a contest for who's done more for the club or it's members.

Why do you continue to trash this car? What do you get out of it? There are lots of things that aren't "right" with the Gen I and Gen II cars - and with the exception of a few color combos - it's my understanding that they aren't doing too well right now on resale either. 2002s were selling for upper $40's even 2 years ago - now THAT is depreciation. There was gradual price creep throughout the years and that caused the later cars to depreciate FASTER than the other years. Does that make the car any less great to you? Of course not - you love the car and don't look at it as an "asset" or judge it's worth solely on what others are willing to pay for it. Perhaps you could understand that's how other Viper owners view their cars.

You seem to be stuck on trashing the SRT - but then say that maybe you'll pick on up when the price tanks low enough. Will your tune change then? Maybe THAT is what's in it for you - I don't know.

Have you spent any appreciable time in the Gen III to REALLY discuss it's overall success as a car? I've read the new comparo's between the Z06 and the SRTC and one thing that stood out for me was the reviewers notes that the SRT was "easier to drive fast" and "better feel on the track" - and that the Z06 was twitchy and unforgiving and always felt like they were about to lose it. If you don't like it - don't buy it (kind a like the don't like it don't read it mantra above) but to continually trash the car in the Gen III forum is akin to crapping on your host's living room rug. Pretty bad manners overall - and you probbly won't get invited back. Of course, no one should have had to tell you NOT to do it in the first place - it was just common decency.

So why not stop hijacking the threads with all the negativity - vote with your wallet and try to keep the criticism constructive instead of insulting your fellow VCA members.

Uh, ***....kettle....black....????

I could go and collect all the posts, but I ain't gonna do that. Suffice to say that Chris only EVER gets "personal" after he's been provoked. You purposely pushed as many button as you could...all for no reason other than (as far as I can tell), stir the ***. Then you get upset? Let me see.....maybe this:

The only embarassment I would have is you being my VCA President!

That right there takes ANY and ALL credibility you had and flushes it. You may have been "tracking Vipers"....but to make that statement then...and then this:

...and have helped my club more than you could ever do.

Both have me laughing my asp off. I suggest you follow Janni's advice and take a break. Personally...I don't like the car either, but I can make that statement and then MOVE on. The new car does something to a good many people...good for them. You are not here to belittle that or minimize it in any way...otherwise you are doing more HARM to your club than anyone could ever do.

I would love to see ads from 2003 ago with a bunch of 2002's in the 40's. That is a bit far fetched!

Oh and by the way, Chris might have done a lot for the club but he has no respect from me. I did have respect for him (maybe just a **** sometimes) but he threatened me. He went way to far!

Statement was made and then moved on until Y2K5SRT had to chime in. Bottom line is that this is not going anywhere and is just a waste of time for all parties. The only good thing out of this argument was my post count going up. I am done as long as their are no more personal attacks, especially by Y2K5SRT. :buttkick:

Well, I actually was hoping no one would find out about the cars, so that I had a better chance. I am just looking for an excuse to buy another viper. Honestly though, I only found out about it, from the main page, and even then I was lucky to see the update. This could have been communicated a little better. But at least I got mine in, so hopefully no more then 49 other people sent theres in, and my friendly neighborhood dodge dealership in Cary NC, but not advertising for them, will have a coupe coming with my name on it.

ok the pooping part. Janni you ever have someone poop on your living room rug? Would it be more acceptable if they did it on the hard wood? (easier to clean up, wont stain.. but then again, just a guess). Also if I catch someone $hitting on my floor, I dont think it would be a matter of inviting them back, it would be picking the right gun, or phoning the right institution for the person.

Let me ask you one more... what happens when one of your dogs do it? Do you get rid of them, or forgive them, because they are only a dog? What if its a guest dog, he is never allowed back either... right?

Janni, Daz my dawg !!

Love Jon :hitfan: <---poop but not on the carpet, just into a fan.

So wait.....I'm lost F355.....are you honestly sitting there, typing (for all intents and purposes) that "Chris started it"? Seriously. Because if that is your story and you're sticking with it....then I will absolutely have to go through all the posts to prove/disprove that. I'm not worried about what thread went where, or what thread is closed...I have an e-mail version of ALL posts (and sadly, I think, I have them all the way back to 2001.....EASILY searchable).

Needless to say, I am doubtful that the "Chris started it" path is the right one....

F355 you need to learn some respect. :evilmad: What Chris has done for the Viper Club goes way beyond what is common knowledge on this forum. Most probably know about Mr. President’s (what I like to call him) big accomplishments his events, Meetings, Charity drives, dinners, and his legendary Southwest Zone Rendezvous. But what most don’t know is how Chris goes incredibly out of his way to help each and every VCA member.

Lets just chose a random member: Me

I joined the KC Viper Club a little over year ago. Not being the richest viper owner and the fact I was younger (26) I was scared that I wouldn’t be accepted. Chris welcomed me with open arms and introduced me to all of the great Members. Who have all done nothing but accept me. But that’s just where Chris begins. Since then he has help me out on hundreds of occasions.

Here is just a FRACTION of what Chris has done for me:

Chris became aware of a GEN I hard top in Miami (since he knows everyone that has a Viper) that was being given away for free. Instead of putting it up on EBAY or selling it for around 3k. He is giving it to me! That’s right Chris is giving me a 3K hard top! He is even paying for shiping (no matter how much I protest) saying it’s a wedding gift.

My Head Gaskets (dam GEN Is) went out at the track 45 min from where I live. Chris came to my rescue and called for 2 hours straight making sure me and my car got trailored home safely. Then as if that wasn’t enough he called countless dealers and found me the best deal on new Head Gaskets.

My wedding was 3 weeks ago:

http://vca2.viperclub.org/forums/showflat.php?Cat=&Board=UBB14&Number=606314&Forum=All_Forums&Words=8227&Match=Username&Searchpage=0&Limit=25&Old=allposts&Main=606235&Search=true#Post606314

Chris and Tim are almost definitly going to get the wedding in the Viper Magazine!

And that’s just what I could think of off the top of my head.

Chris is one of the most respected VCA members for good reason. Seeing someone disrespect him…………frankly makes me sick. :evilmad:

P.S. I was Glad that he posted the VCA Edition Viper on the GEN I, GEN II forums. As I don't read the SRT-10 forums much. Ya dam Crybaby's. :D

Sorry about the way you feel EARLY93. Chris and I have some differences but as stated prior, I am just going to let this die because all we do is go back and forth. So I guess you can say, I have no more input on the matter. :)

By the way, I read your wedding post, and think that was a great thing to do as stated in your thread.
