I can see how they couldn't offer it totally free and clear, with the income tax part obviously being the responsibility of the winner. It's my understanding though that the winner also has to pay the retail sales tax on it as well. Can't see it being a big deal to include the sales taxes It makes it more appealing to us gamblers, and reduces the tax burden.
I do totally agree with them opening the raffle up to the public. All the proceed go back to the club for club member benefits, so the more tickets they can sell the better for us!
I'm buying a ticket, for sure. Even with all the taxes, hassles of getting it into Canada, etc, still getting a kicka$$ truck for a fraction of it's cost. It's an awesome ride, and would be a nice upgrade from my 99 Jeep Grand Cherokee Lorado daily driver! Would be pretty sweet having two V10 rides in the garage!
