You would think that having one of 50 would be pretty cool, and it is! Even heard today that Jay Leno got one of the VCA SRT-10's. That would explain why only 47 were shipped to VOI 8.
Anyway, since we were awash in a sea of yellow in Dallas, my lovely bride decided that we should tweak ours just a little bit to set it apart from the rest. Not that we will see too many of them on the road, but what the heck. A photo essay from today's Kansas Speedway event:
And taking the lead over the dreaded Porsches (all of them) is the 2005 VCA SRT-10!
Wait a minute, wait a minute - it looks a little different from those other VCA SRT-10's we have seen. Let's see if we can't get a closer look:
Say, it looks - different. Let's see what it looks like as it goes past us on the straight...
Well by golly, it looks like they added some of those awesome SRT-10 side graphics as seen on some of those silver SRT-10's! Seems like it would compliment that hood stripe and dark wheels well, especially with a pretty woman at the wheel...
Yep, after this particular charity ride, the owner of the F40 came up and said, "WOW! That car is absolutely gorgeous!!" I took that as a good sign...
Better get one last shot with the new-and-improved SRT-10 by the soon to be gone VCA SRT-10 (owner got back in town):
Ah yes, side-by-side one last time. You can definitely see the difference!
It even looks great with the top up:
Interestingly enough, rumor has it that Dodge actually contemplated doing this for all 50 of the VCA Editions, however they did not have enough on it to get it certified for warranty (has to be proven for 3 years/36,000 miles endurance). Too bad, because we think it looks awesome! Now you other 49 owners need to keep your cars totally original, or the values could plummet. Or something like that...
My thanks to Steve for producing such a great graphics kit (sold through Autoform and I believe PartsRack), and to KE Graphics here in Kansas City for getting it done on such short notice. We are very happy with it indeed, and the kids (and adults) were fighting over who got to ride in it today at the Speedway. So far, so GREAT!
