VEC2 is a tuning/Logging software/device allowing to modify your ignition and fuel. It's the brain of the Supercharger. Its logging feature is very good. It can help to identify tuning toubles very quickly. However it only uses the input from the Viper's stock oxygen sensors (if connected).
Wideband Commander($500) is a "high precision" logging software allowing to log your AFR/RPM/BOOST/Throttle. Its special feature is the Wideband oxygen sensor. It can be connected to the VEC2. I have it on my Viper connected into the driver side header.
VEC2 is essential with the Supercharger. Personnaly I strongly recommand to get the Wideband commander. It can save you a LOT of time when tuning. Installing the supercharger is not a rocket science but tuning it requires some special tools. This is where the Wideband Commander can help.
Have a look on the new LM-1 kit. The complete kit is around $800. It is a dyno itself. It can transform your Viper into a mobile dyno. The only problem is the ugly interface but the new digital gauge (200$) is nicer.
Personnaly I prefer the Wideband Commander.
